I never say hi to anyone in the hallway, and they never say hi to me either.

It's kinda suck that I see this person (that I'm not really closed to) every day, and the only thing I could say is "hi."
As the days go on, it gets awkward that I just end with a nod or raising both my eyebrows and a faint smile as another way to say hi.
I know that person is not interested to get to know me, but, gosh, we both see each other every single day.

Ugh. I dislike common small talk.

"Ooh. The weather is nice."

"Yea."

Thinks to himself, "And now what?"

thinking....

a smile/wave will do..
if they ignored me (pretended not to see me or etc)..i'd just say to myself "at least i tried"
Now,i usually smile at acquiantances even if i dont know their names.
greeting people has brought a lot of good things to me----ive easily met new friends, and college has been a lot easier to cope up with because of my "smile".
Honestly, ive been an antisocial before--i rarely smile nor say hi to anyone
(i was too introverted and insensitive, but inside i'd struggled a lot of insecurities because of my inability to interact well with strangers)
Now, i am not afraid to socialize with people. I guess i just have to because of my dream.XD
well, i want to be a director---and i need to collect a lot of friends for more opportunities.I ve come to realize i won't do well being too independent. I need people (for my gains.XD).

Wow, personality-wise, we're almost the same....still struggling tho

I usually ignore all people greeting me in the hall, but sometimes I may raise my head or nod, but not much else.

I only knew one person who ever did that, and it didn't bother me at first, but when it started getting annoing, the next time I saw her, I stopped and intercepted her path. Then I gave a big smile and waved in her face, screaming very loudly, "HI!!!!" She started laughing and after that, she always said hello to me. That only works for me because I'm just weird like that. : )

That's basically the situation I had. (I understand that in college ppl care about themselves) But I literally saw this person everyday and even if I initiated the greeting, a couple of times the person ignored me. ( I could really go into the story to show how messed-up the situation was, but I won't bore you ) But basically I felt like a dork because I like greeting ppl i know, especially if we made eye-contact. My roomie told me just don't bother and I decided to follow her advice. I walk with my head down to avoid another situation like that.

I smile and do that thing w/ my head like when you quickly lift your chin up and then it goes back down -- like a little head nod or something >__<

I get catty with them later on.

"Oh am I somekind of peasant over here."
"Say hi to me fucker or Ill embarrass you,"
"I am not some fucking dog over here."

A few times I yell out the persons name and rub my fat gut.
