Why does everyone like Zero?

Exactly, it's because we can relate to him. Even if he doesn't show his feelings, we KNOW what he feels.
Even if he's the cool dude, he's also a friend, a shoulder to cry on, a protector, a hero.
He's not the mysterious, planning, secretive guy. He doesn't care about vampire hierarchy! He's a rebel, someone wanting to change the upper-class! Someone who stands up for what he desires and let's other people find their happiness, even if he doesn't get anything back.
He's dutiful and brave. He fights to protect and doesn't let others clear his job for him.
The lists go on and on.. He's an amazing character, my fave till date!

I wasn't aware everyone liked zero, 0.0 i always thought kaname was most liked since he's the vk icon in japan (I find it unfair since yuuki should be the icon, but kanames great too)

I think it's because Zero is the most pitiful character in the series. His parents were killed by vampires, then he was bitten and forced to become the creature he hates the most, then the only girl he loves is not only in love with a vampire that he can't stand, but also turns out to be a vampire herself, his brother hates him (at least from what I've seen, I haven't finished the series yet), he's losing his humanity, and to top it all off, he has to live with the annoying headmaster. I think most of the audience likes him just because they pity him so much. Plus, he's pretty cute as well.

Why do I like him, huh? ...Well, first of all, his parents were killed by a vampire which also took away his only brother for whom he cared very much. Then that vampire turned him into the same creature as it was. After that incident he met Yuuki, fell in love with her and after she was taking care and being so gentle towards him he eventually ended up loving and wanting her even though he believed he didn't deserve this and he knew that she had feelings for her "hero" (i.e. Kaname) and that she wouldn't ever consider him as a lover. Then after drinking her blood for the first time he felt guild and self-hatred for letting himself become a beast and making her experience something terrifying like that. But he kept drinking her blood because he would die if he didn't. Hopefully, Yuuki understood how he felt and she let him do whatever he wanted to. During that time, he was also manipulated by Kaname, whom he hated the most. Eventually, he ended up losing his brother and Yuuki, after learning that in fact she was a pureblood. So, at first he felt hatred and disgust towards her; however, he kissed her good-bye and promised he will kill her the next time he will see her, and although he has met her a few times after that happening, he still hasn't managed to fulfill his promise because he just can't kill her. Killing her means death for him. And now, being all alone, suffering from all those things happened in the past, he's still trying to live on and fight to keep his sanity with his all. That's why I love and admire him the most! He's damn strong! But besides that, I love how he doesn't give a shit about little things and he just goes on his own way. I also admire the fact that he truly knows the meaning of love: Letting the one you love go because you know that'll make him/her truly happy. But he just can't live without Yuuki. That's a fact. I also like his humour; he's sarcastic. I won't put aside the fact that he's handsome, even if personality matters more than looks to me. And something I forgot to mention, I love how he expresses his feelings mainly not by words, but by actions. I would also like to add that Zero knows to forgive. He forgived his brother, Ichiru, who almost betrayed him. And I'm sure he will forgive, or he even may have already forgiven, Yuuki. He also doesn't demand anything for the things he does for others. This is a proof that he isn't selfish and demanding, right?

P.S. Don't you think these songs match Zero and Yuuki (especially Zero) very well?

Psh, I have NO idea. He's just those overrated characters you see in like every series... >_> I mean, he's not exactly the NICEST guy.. Not to mention his weird obsession with killing vampires (before you go off saying its because one killed his family, that was what? Shizuka? ((Crazy?)) ).
