This is a general thread on the peace and order in Iran so anything on it can be discussed and posted here.

Iranian woman killed in Tehran protests

The brave Iranian woman killed during a rally in Tehran did not fear death even as the government threatened to crack down on protesters.

"Don't worry, it's just one bullet and it's over," she told a friend, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Neda Agha-Soltan, a beautiful 26-year-old philosophy student whose murder has made her a martyr to the Iranian opposition, was determined to support the protesters, friend and music teacher Hamid Panahi said.

Panahi is the frantic man seen in the graphic 40-second YouTube video that made Soltan an international icon.

If I see anymore ridiculous off-topic posting in this thread, proper action will be taken.

Yes TC, I saw the video where it shows her death. Really tragic stuff. I've been paying attention to what's been happening to Iran even before this... it's sad that it took her death for people to rally up and go against Khomeni and Ahmadinejad.

I've seen this video hundreds of times and even went green on twitter. I heard she was just watching with her father. It made me cry at the end when the doctor was putting pressure on her, and her father was yelling for help towards the end of the video. She died with open eyes, and for a split second she looks into the camera. I'm not going to lie, I'm one of those people who wasn't aware of what was going on in iran until I saw the youtube video. I was wondering why everyone was going green on twitter :/
So all of this happened because of rigged votes, right?
How did the people find out anyway?

This is very tragic indeed. She went there to lend her voice and in the end became THE voice of the protest. May she rest in peace.

Someone on Youtube wrote: "Neda died with open eyes, shame on anyone that lives with theirs closed"

My condolences to her family.

I saw that video a couple of days ago on the news, blood everywhere and then yesterday they posted a still-pic of her smiling...
What people have to go through to get their voices heard. Most of us have it easy.

IDK if she's been called that also or not, but so far people have been referring to her as "Neda of Iran". The name Neda means "voice" in Persian, so the translation would be "Voice of Iran"-- truly fitting.

Reports are saying that Iran has basically created its on Tiananmen Square massacre at Baharestan Square in Tehran. It's really getting bad over there.

It's tragic that this is happening. Everyone was hoping that this would not turn into another Tiananmen Square massacre, and yet it starting to look like it.

More videos of the protest can be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/citizentube and http://www.citizentube.com
