Japanese are known for their eccentricity and strangness, which in itself is strange, coming from a country whose core value are collectivism and sigularity.

I'd heard of these restaurants (particularly the toilet-themed one-- thought it was called 馬桶 or romanized as "Marton" as in the photo, as opposed to "Modern Toilet," though) over the years. The eccentric part of me definitely wants to go there at least once in my lifetime! (And I happen to find the Japanese"eccentricity" endearing most of the time, making travel there even more interesting and fun-- though it admittedly does express itself in disturbing fashion sometimes...)

I haven't been in Taiwan since 1995. Can anyone who lives there or who has been there very recently say whether the toilet restaurant is still there? If it's still there, is the food actually any good at all? I'm all for fun and gimmicks, even if it costs a bit extra, especially if on vacation, but not if the food is mediocre or bad.
