i don't dress for the music i like
i don't like to wear same clothes as others
i don't like wearing clothes that are waaaaayyy too expensive
apparently i'm quite casual...and apparently i'm quite conservative...hmm...i never knew that! but i guess it's because i feel that people look at me too much if i'm wearing something revealing (even just a tank top!!) eek.... m u s t h i d e....

I think clothes do show your personality. So if you wear old clother with holes in it I wouyld probably think you are not the cleanest person on earth (or you're poor, which is hard to imagine in the place i live )

I think what you wear always effects the opinion people have of you. The magnitude of this and end result is a little variable. What I wear depends mainly on whether I want to be anti social or outgoing. When I'm not going out I'll wear whatever is available. To ignore the effect that clothing and hygiene have on other people is wasteful of a useful social tool.

For some people wearing something will change their mood. I have a necklace with sentimental value, some people have lucky shirts.

I think that the clothing you wearm whether you consciously know it or not, affects your daily life.
You dress a certain way to fit in with your friends.
You dress a certain way to make your family happy
You dress a certain was to make yourself happy
You dress a certain way to participate in sports or drama or whatever
It all affects you in slight ways.
I tried an experiment when i was in high school
I wasn't going to wear anything that anyone else was wearing.
It was the late 80/ early 90's so everyone was wearing rolled pants and heels (female anyway)
I wore bell bottoms, and dressed like a hippie.
People laughed at me, they ostricized me, and i was generally know as the freaky girl. (i was ok with this since i didn't want to be like them)
I noticed also that other people started to dress like hippies. So i had to change my clothing again, so i wouldn't be the same.
I went goth.
(lol i actually thought i was being origional)
People became scared of me...
Girls started rumors that i was a witch (i was sort of... i was learning about wicca at that piont)
Things were thrown at me... i spent a lot of time in the principal's office (when i was innocent)
but then a bunch of guys started dressing like that..
So , i just went kind of odd.... Long skirts with bright floral patterns (lol kinda like lil old ladies in florida or something)
For some reason (even though it was ugly as hell) People started to copy everything i did..
When i moved to a new state at the end of my sophmore year, i decided to stop the experiment, and went back to jeans and t-shirts.
But i proved my point... People are subconsciously trying to be like others...
Human beings have a need to fit in. and they were all trying to fit in..

Well, I think it does affect your confidence. to a certain extent. To deny so would either mean that you think you look very good, or the reverse.
