Of course. Lots of people judge others by what they wear. Kinda sucks to admit it, but people can be very shallow and clothes are something they can use to stereotype you. Heck, I know I do it.

for sure but people say stuff and it sticks to you in a way

What you wear partially determines how you view yourself, and definitely how others view you. If I say, wore a swimsuit to school in the middle of the winter, I would be, needless to say, uncomfortable and feel like a bit of an idiot, and in turn, people would think that I'm a little on the eccentric side, at best.

Ehh this is really a touchy question....i dont think what you wear really says alot about who you are...@ least not in highschool...because everything you buy comes from your parents and if your parents cant afford much then you wont be wearing really nice clothes...and vice versa....ive seen some incredibly trashy people wear nicer clothes...doesnt say anything about them except they have the money to dress nice....cant turn a whore into a wife...cant take the trailor park out of the girl even if shes wearing CK and chanelle

Now ive always thought of myself as a rather classy boy...and ive just been lucky enough to express my state of mind through the clothes i pick out

yeah, b/c i wear boys clothes most of the time so people title me as the tomboy but i dont just wear those kinds of clothes. i mean i only wear boys clothes b/c they're comfortable unlike girls clothing which r really tight and uncomfortable. and if i were to actually wear girls clothing people would be like "ellen u look so pretty why dont u wear those kinds of clothes all the time?" and when im wearing comfortable loose clothing people r like "aahhh, ellen, that shirt is way too big for u!!!!!! why dont u wear more girl stuff?" but most of my friends r either guys or tomboys so i dont really care what other people say about how i dress

Certain things are approprate for certain times. You don't wear your bathing suit to a business meeting do you? And if you dont want someone to get the wrong impression you should wear clothes that make you look like a whore. Judging by brands is pointless however.

I agree, men's clothing is much more comfortable, when you're talking casual clothes. Work clothes, however... that's another story.

This is funny because I had to do an impromptu essay for eng last sem on this.
(this is not the essay btw)

Clothes is a stamp for you to express what you want other people to view you as.
Everyone wears different "uniforms" to show people who they think they are.
You may not even realise it, but you wear the clothes you wear subconciously trying to fit in or rebel.
Different colors associate with different types of persona.
Movies and TV and any form of media guides the common opinion of what you are based on what you wear.
hence stereotypes.
Most of you, if you were to walk past me on the street, would probably not talk to me. I wear business suits and look very professional 90% of the time. (not to mention i'm much older than the majority)
That's my "uniform" the stamp i wear is my professionalism. To show people that I am to be trusted, and respected in the industry that i'm in.
When i go out to a bar or something, I wear jeans and a nice shirt. (not too provocative, not too conservative) My stamp shows people that i'm comfortable.
I see soo many girls wearing clothing that hardly covers thier asses... They wear the stamp of slut. I have no idea if they are or not, but that's the "uniform" they wear.
Guys a lot of the time, just wear jeans and an old t-shirt, that is the stamp of I'm low maintenance.
They also wear the name brand stamps, (imho) in an attempt to display their wealth. (younger guys btw)
A man wearing an Armani Suit... have you guy heard the says.. he drips wealth? Yeah that's the stamp of armani taylored suits.
It's all in the image you feel of yourself, that subconsciously decides what you wear each morning.
Think about that next time you pull on your clothes in the morning.

it affects alot, especially the type of clothes or what it looks like on people.

No it doesnt show your personality, people assume this quickly as they can by their looks and by how they dress.

Girls: (In most cases harsher...lol)"Eww, look what shes wearing she looks like my grandma"

Guys: "Haha look at that dork you can see his manboobs.
