I have friends that I'm witnessing to, but I also have friends that I haven't witnessed to. What keeps us from witnessing to those friends we haven't witnessed to? Do we think of them as more hopeless because they appear more sinful than other friends, or because they are very skeptical? Is it because we fear that they won't want to be our friends anymore if we mention God? Look at what we're doing to these friends. It's as if they have a disease that will one day kill them, and we're holding back the cure. Why do we do this?! Why are we more afraid of man, than afraid of what will happen to man?

I do not have a friend whom I don't witness too. There are ones that I feel I cannot say anything to them to change their heart. The others avoid me because they know I bring up subjects they are uncomfortable in answering. Hence probably my lack of friends. I have never had vasts amounts of friends, but the ones I do have I scare off it seems by witnessing to. Friends from high school I used to talk to every day have thrown out my number, friends from college, once tey find out im a Christian we are no longer close friends. Sometimes its the simple would you go to church with me that shoo's them off.

In any case conviction and being scared to talk to someone shouldn't matter, we should be an open book. My friends know I am a christian and I will speak out against the immoral and the corrupt. If I would deny my friends a part of me so crucial as my spirituality, for lack of a better term, then I am denying them my true self. I strive every day to become the man God wants me to be, and avoiding subjects that can potentially damage a friendship is not important to me then becoming whom God has called me to be.

I think the problem with witnessing to some and not others is acceptance they have to you. If you fear that they will no longer like you that is not a good enough excuse to keep the truth from them. If you fear that you do not know what to say, then you should read and pray, and tell them what you know. Sometimes its the simple aspects that find new believers. If you don't think you are qualified and that someone else should, your taking the easy way out, and your a coward. We should be upfront with everyone, about who we are, and what we believe.

With that said, use some tact, do not bash, do not criticize, do not do anything that would jeopardize your testimony. We are all called to tell the Truth, and to speak as disciples of God, so whats your hang up?

well...what I'm experiencing now is the skepticism of my classmates, that's why they're persecuting me right now, because I try to follow what God says.

But I know that God will save them at His own time...and that's my revenge to them: for them to become Born Again!

LoL, you go April. I am starting to come up with this ridiculous notion that Christianity is becoming a fad, and that people claim to be Christians to either fit in, to be outcasted, or something else, but the more I look at others, the less fruit I see. Feels like they are giving real Christians and Christ a bad name. It's harder for me to witness to someone that says they are saved and believe they are going to heaven. Question of the day, how can you tell someone who is lukewarm that they might as well be heathen? in a nice and polite and respectable way lol.

ne, I've read this novel entitled "The Heart Reader" and it was great!! It's a story about a Christian named Sam Bennet who wakes up one day hearing the spiritual needs of people after dreaming about a woman rummaging through the house looking for a lost coin, and then he hears a voice with and authority saying "Ephphatha!"

It's very inspiring because it tells about how Christians are having a hard time evangelizing...but it's not really that hard if you think about it! I'm really looking forward to the day God uses me to bring someone to Him! Oooh I'm so excited!

Eh...laziness and fear mostly. I should do something about it...but I don't. I had a bible study recently that talked about evangelism, and the reasons why we don't evangelize, and they showed a video on not sharing your faith. It's a bit funny. Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EAFj5WTVt4

There should be no excuse. Paul suffered greatly in his time serving God. 2 Cor. 11:21b-33 gives an account of what he suffered.
We have nothing to fear in our words, because God will give you the right words: Matthew 10:19-20. God will tell you where to begin.

One thing you can do is challenge their faith, if they claim to be "Christian" then they believe the Bible, just quote scriptures that contradict them, but do it in a loving and peaceful way, maybe in class isn't the best time. I am praying for you, stay strong!

Yeah, and from your close Christian friends you should give and receive encouragement. Hbr 3:13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness. Encourage and pray with your close Christian friends daily, and be the salt and light of the world.

For me it's fear...
I'm afraid of getting hurt (ya there's that type of guy who just wants to kill you everytime he blows a fuse)
I'm afraid of making things worse
I'm afraid of being 5 on 1 >.<
I'm afraid I cant answer something right
I'm afraid they wont listen
I'm just afraid.

And I hate it....
But...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm very reluctant on sharing. I mean going out there and just stating "hey guys, do you know God did this and that" is a bit.... you know...
But during Sunday... One of my pastors said... Non-believers arent looking for perfect Christians, their smart enough to know that you are not. What they are looking for is if your Geniuine. In love. So... I plan to just... well Theres kinda like a division at school... Theres a guy who's pretty much rich and dosent know if he's doing something wrong or not, btw he's a Christian, and almost everyone else, including some Christians, just gang up on him... I plan to stop them... But I dont know if I can do it >.< alittle encouragement/advice would be nice

I usually worry that after I share Jesus with someone that they'll no longer want to hang out with me or just think i'm plain weird ^_^...haha
but I think that God is slowly helping me to get over that irrational fear. Seriously though. Your true friends will always listen to anything that's important to you right? It really is a lot more effective if you get to know someone before you share Jesus with them. Jesus is actually a great example of this...he went to tax collector's houses and had lunch with them and talked to them before he did the work of his Father.

Sharing your faith with others is actually easier than it seems but you always have to remember that that a person isn't going to listen to you unelss they feel that you actually care about what they're going throught and that you actually care whether or not their soul is doomed in eternity. That's why living the Word of God and making your life a testimony to others is equally important. No one will listen to a police officer with a horrible criminal record...in the same way no one wants to listen to a Christian that lies all the time and talks about their friends behind their backs or drinks all the time. The way we act should be the first testimony to others. People should automatically note that there's something different about us when compared to the people in this world. There should almost be a physical difference.

This may sound odd but I recently noticed that my Christian friends and I are actually so much happier than our other friends~ Why? It's not that we don't have our own problems. All of us have the same amount of stress and issues with our family, school and friends but it's the fact that we rely on God to take care of everything that sets our attitudes apart. We're happier because we know that God will take care of it. That takes a load off of our shoulders and automatically helps us present ourselves as nicer people and it helps us talk to our friends about God because they know that we have some sort of truth in our hearts that overflows and reaches others.

So! Don't be afraid! Just remember the Holy Spirit will guide you to say the right thing at the right time. Be patient, caring, and above all else show the love of God. A nice way to start is to bring up your own personal testimony in a conversation...how God has changed you...What he's done in your life. You'll be amazed at how people crave for God even though they don't understand what they're craving.
