Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagaan...
i know alot of ppl with give me shit about this, but i just couldn't stand it after Kamina died.
don't get me wrong, it started out great. but as soon as he died the series to me felt like a bust.
i finished the whole thing, but it could have been alot better and had a second season.
i mean i've seen alot of animes that has to have the teacher died in order for the disciple to get stronger.
Examples: Star Wars, Major (one of the Best Animes made in my opinion)
but yeah, to me it felt like the series went down after that, especially when they met Nia.
to me it just ended a little to fast, maybe if they added more to it, maybe shown Kamina's character development too or something but yeah w/e.
anyways besides that another let down which everyone would vote for is School Days.
I'm still amazed about how much attention it got for when the final episode came out.
even people who did not watch it, probably watched it because of curiosity.

Well...it depends on the show. Just b/c something is hyped doesn't make it less enjoyable.Usually shows that are popular have a large fanbase...I mean, isn't that the point after all? It shouldn't matter really. If it has a good plot and believable characters, HEY, I'm all for it!

All of the super-hyped animes seemed to follow that theory.... You may be on to something there...

I'd say all shows. Not saying that all anime is bad, just that they always seem to lose something along the way. again not saying all are bad, just that none ever end as good as they start, and the ones with a ending that is ok could still usually be a lot better.
