"Firstly a note about the new chapter of Nana since some of you having been emailing us about it. It seems the author got hit with a sudden sickness and will require several months of treatment and recovery and so the manga has been put on hold for now. We wish her a speedy recovery but it will be a while it seems before we see Nana again."

I don't want her sick, but for whatever reason she isn't working, if only because she suddenly declared herself retired, I'm glad it's NOT Kaori Yuki. I would never wish anyone to be sick.

I asked, "Why would you wish any misfortune on someone else rather than another?" not why would you wish it one someone in general. I just think it's pretty d*ckish thing to pretty much say, "oh this person is sick. oh well, better her than someone I'm a bigger fan of."
No one should be better than anyone else if the other got sick, just because you like their work more. This is the thing that makes fandom go too far.
