Thank you everyone!

Road to Tokyo Dome

From Daily Sports:

Tohoshinki debuted in Japan in 2005 with the image of “new artists.”
Because they were requested to sing in Japanese, the boys had to stay in Japan for a year, practicing the language.

Changmin (21) “Compared to before, we had certainly grown up, singing in Japanese for the first time…” he said, as he recalled their hardships.

In January 2008, Tohoshinki released their “Purple Line” single which set off a record of having five other #1 singles on the Oricon Chart within the same year. They were invited to perform at the NHK Kouhaku the previous year.
After other Korean artists, Rain and Ryu Si-won, Tohoshinki finally stood on the stage of Tokyo Dome, Japan’s largest indoor concert venue.

After reaching this goal, the five members still refuse to just stop there.
Yuchun and Jejung (23), showed off their new song, “COLORS〜Melody and Harmony〜” which would be the next theme song for Hello Kitty’s 35th Anniversary.

On the 29th and 30th of August 2009, they would be appearing in a-nation, the summer’s biggest event in Osaka!

Dong Bang Shin Ki’s afterthoughts about Tokyo Dome

Dong Bang Shin Ki talks about their feelings with the end of their Japanese concert tour. The group had their last Japanese concert tour performance on 4th and 5th at the Tokyo Dome. The concert tour saw more than 300,000 audience present at the concert performances, and had brought it more than 40 billion KRW.

Dong Bang Shin Ki said, “We had more concert performances than from last year but it ended much faster then we thought. We were very excited about experiencing the different food and culture at the different places we went.”

“It still feels very real to us, the concert. Especially the finale performance at Tokyo Dome, we can still feel the after effect of it. We are really touched as we had talked about performing at the Tokyo Dome between the members when we first advanced into Japan.”

“We had also taken a little break this year to go visit OnCheon with our band, dancers and staff to relieve stress. We have also seen another side of our staff, we have become more close to each other, it was a fun experience. Our trip to Sapporo was the more impressionable. Xiah JunSu has finally joined us for dance performance after he got himself injured. We felt complete as 5 members again on stage.”

And about them being the 1st Korean artistes to perform at the Tokyo Dome, “It serves as greater meaning as the 1st Korean artistes to perform at the Dome, and we are really excited as the chance for us to perform at the Dome came faster than we expected.”

TVXQ Rocked the Tokyo Dome!

The wait is over and TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki finally had their performances at the Tokyo Dome the past two nights on July 4th and 5th. To stage at a 55,000 seat venue located in Japan, where all the top notch artists perform is not easy to accomplish. And in four years of time with their last stop of their national tour, they have achieved their dreams of performing at the dome!

TVXQ performed a series of 32 songs and there were many surprises for the fans - Jaejoong and Yoochun performed a first ever duet for 'Colors~Melody and Harmony'; Yunho flew through the air; And also for the very first time, female dancers were used and had a lot of body contact with the boys, wilding the crowd up! They also performed a couple of their solos that were previously shown at their Asia tour.

TVXQ felt as if it was so surreal to perform at such a venue where they repeatedly said that it was amazingly huge. Junsu said with tears in his eyes, "It feels like we've achieved our dream. I feel so blessed." Four years is not a short period of time, but it is not a long period of time either. It is definitely something to be proud of.

And for those who missed out on the Tokyo Dome live performance, it was recorded and is expected to be released on September 30, 2009. It is titled, "4th Live Tour 2009 -The Secret Code- Final in Tokyo Dome." So don't fret, it'll be out on DVD very soon!

The Korea Times - TVXQ Performs at Tokyo Dome

Dong Bang Shin Gi, one of South Korea’s top pop groups also known as TVXQ, has achieved its dream of performing at the Tokyo Dome.

The performance, held Saturday and Sunday, drew more than 50,000 fans. It was the group’s last concert staged as part of “Tohoshinki ― 4th Live Tour 2009 ― The Secret Code.” TVXQ has been touring Japan’s nine major cities since May, attracting more than 300,000 spectators.

During the Tokyo concert, TVXQ fascinated fans by singing its 32 hit songs for three hours and 20 minutes.

The Tokyo Dome is the dream stage where top and popular singers like SMAP, GLAY and Ayumi Hamazaki had performed. South Korean singer Rain and actor-singer Ryu Si-won had performed at the Tokyo Dome but this marked the first time that a South Korean group has performed there.

TVXQ has been dreaming of having a concert at the Tokyo Dome since it entered Japan.

Kano Sister blogs about Tohoshinki Concert

Kano Sister blogged on their Ameblo Blog “Abunai Sister” about how they went to the Tohoshinki Tokyo Dome Concert.

(Kano sisters blog is currently ranked at 7th place on the Ameblo ranking and there’s a lot of readers leaving good comments about the boys on this entry~)

Hello
I went to Tohoshinki’s Concert in Tokyo Dome.
My sister had a lot of homework left, with checking her interview manuscript, so I attended by myself.

DHC-san had invited both of us, so my sister was very disappointed.
We like concerts very much,
Since we know many foreign artists,
We attend many genre of concerts.

This was the first time attending a concert for an Asian artist (Japan included)
So it was very refreshing, and moving.

Also,
the “Jun juwa~~.”
a good sense of humor, and
Excellent singing ability,
It was Japanese, but there was a mysterious sound to it,
Dynamic, and perfect dancing,
Everything was very moving.

In the VIP room. With 3, very pretty people from DHC.

TVXQ: “It’s a dream to finally complete the Dome Concert.”

TVXQ who debuted in Japan in 2005 had a dream to hold a successful solo concert in Tokyo Dome.

On the last two days, July 4th and 5th, in total of production cost of 3,000,000,000 yen (approx 400 billion won), TVXQ finally held the first concert at Japan’s Tokyo Dome, mobilizing total 300,000 audiences in their “TVXQ 4th LIVE TOUR 2009 The Secret Code”.

The following is interview with TVXQ after their Tokyo Dome concert finished.

>> How do you feel after finishing Japan tour of 9 cities and 21 stages?

“The tour is more than just the number of performances was done. I feel like it’s something I heard more quickly. The food and each region’s dialect is unique characteristics you can expose in the many different cultures, which makes it fun to have a tour around the country.”

It still feels very real to us, all these concert series. Especially the finale at Tokyo Dome, we still can feel the after effect of it. We are really touched as we had been already talking about having performances at Tokyo Dome among members ever since we first advanced to Japan.”

>> One interesting episode of the tour was?

Just like last year, the band, dancers, and staffs — in the middle of tour schedule — went to hotspring to solve fatigue. You could see things you normally couldn’t see from each other. We feel a lot closer, it was really fun.

>> Do you have a place which has the most memorable performance? Why?

I think all members has the most memory of stage in Sapporo.

Junsu who had been absence for the dance performances at the beginning of the tour due to injury finally recovered and was back to dance again in Sapporo stage.

When the whole 5 members were completely on stage, TVXQ finally looked perfect again, I felt complete.

>> What was prepared especially for the Tokyo Dome concert?

In addition to existing songs from the tour, members were preparing their solo or duet.

The audiences were about 50,000 people, so as it’s a large-scale performance, we have to look for ways to use the huge space effectively. Thus, other than main stage, we also added sub stage and boat show in Dome so that the stage becomes more lively as we can place more dancers on stage.

In addition, as part of the stage, there was moving arena/vehicle and we add more special effects as well. We’re not trying to be pretentious, but we just want to take advantage of Dome as a venue for a large-scale performance.

>> How do you feel as the first South Korea group who stood at Tokyo Dome for the first time?

Being the first is a great significance to our career in Japan, but more than that, our goal in Dome is to have the best performance. I’m glad we can achieve it quicker than ever.

When we first came to Japan, once we knew that only top singers who could perform in Dome, the members had been talking to each other whether we could ever perform in Dome?

Thus to achieve that goal, we worked hard… and now, to stand on stage thinking of the 50,000 audiences who were singing and breathing with us, I felt really happy as we united our heart as one.

Nae Suzuki’s former member Nae Suzuki attended the July 4th Tokyo Dome Concert. In her blog, she posted a picture of her and her friend in the tour t-shirt and wrote “On the 4th, I went to the Tokyo Dome to see the TVXQ concert. It left me with a very deep impression. The music and dancing and MCing and everything was perfect. The fans’ waving of the bright red glowsticks was very clean while simultaneous with the five members. I was almost moved to tears. The intense dance songs and lives were skillfull and I have a very high regard for them. I want to never lose my original intention and I want to become a modest artist like TVXQ.”

Tohoshinki’s Japan Tour Ended, Attracted 300,000 People

When popular group Tohoshinki first debuted in Japan, they said that their「Dream」was to have their own concert at the Tokyo Dome, and they have successfully concluded their Japanese Tour there.

On 4th and 5th July, Tohoshinki held their 「東方神起 4th LIVE TOUR 2009 ~The Secret Code~ FINAL in TOKYO DOME」at the Tokyo Dome (Tokyo Bunkyo-ku), with about 100,000 people going wild for them.

The concert opened with「Secret Game」and also songs like 「どうして君を好きになってしまったんだろう?」「Nobody Knows」「呪文 -MIROTIC- 」from their 4th Japanese album. Including songs like「Somebody To Love」「Love in the Ice」they sang a total of 32 songs enthusiastically over 3.5 hours.

After Tohoshinki’s concert ended, they said emotionally, “To be able to finally have a concert at the Tokyo Dome is like a dream come true, and we feel really blessed. We’ve been carrying this dream with us since we debuted in Japan, and now it finally came true. This is all thanks to everyone. After we came to Japan, and when we first had the thought of having our own concert at the Tokyo Dome, we couldn’t even speak Japanese well, and we could barely introduce our songs. Of course, now we can communicate, and we can also understand our songs firsthand. Now when we look back, Tohoshinki has grown immensely.”

The total cost for the production of Tohoshinki’s concert amounted to ¥3,000,000,000, and the whole Japan Tour gathered about 300,000 people. They gave an impressive performance at the Tokyo Dome, and successfully brought the concert to a close.
