Ok well since i've been to an american high school and is attending a korean high school right now (only for 2 weekish) so I kinda know the differences so just in case you guys are curious here you go =]

Korean high schools have...

less homework

more school hours ( my school starts at 8:00 am and ends at 5:10 pm, and the smarter kids stay till 11:00 pm, schools serve dinner )

school year ends in december (winter vacation is their longest vacation)

you have to take a test in junior high to determine which high school you can go to (kinda like attending a good college or a bad college)

there are only three years of high school

you have to pay about 300,000 won (about 300 USD) to attend one year of high school

they give you more food during lunch (and tastes better too ^^)

most kids go to tutor sessions after school to study even more

they take their gaming seriously (i kinda feel left out cuz they mostly talk about games T~T )

everyone is korean so everyone fits in better

their schedule is given to them, they can't make their own schedule, and their schedule changes every day covering over 12 subjects (the subjects mostly concentrated are english and math)

more personal with the teacher, (they go to their teacher's house and sometimes their teacher's parents house, or go to camping trips with their home room)

the students stay in their home room at all times, the teachers move classrooms not the students

well thats all I can think of for now, if I remember some more i'll post some, you guys feel free to comment or add to the list =]

after reading this, i think it's a lot better to study in korea than in the US, coz they really focus on their studies. but of course, in the US, students can also go to there teacher's house. And korea has more vacation time so i like it.
