Dear crunchyroll,

If you are going to provide yuri content you should also provide yaoi content. There is something about this that seems unequal here. There are plenty of female anime fans. That is why Ouran Host club made it into the "top 10 anime properties list" for 2008. You guys keep pandering to the male fans. Please pander to us female fans, okay? Equal pandering for all!!! Yay!

--And to those folks who are upset because they can't watch: It is NOT crunchyroll that is to blame. YOUR country is not allowing it to be streamed there. Taking it out on CR is not going to change the laws in your country. Only you and the citizens of your country can do that.

It just happens that one of the new series this season is about Yuri. I don't see why CR should make up for it by getting an old Yaoi-series.

And why should people blame their country? You know every country's laws? It's the license holders in Japan who decide whether it can be streamed in every country or just the USA etc. Most CR users are probably from the US and therefore most paying members too. So I assume that it's not worthwile for license holders to make some series available to everyone. They earn much money by selling licenses of their products and I can, to some degree, understand why they don't give permission to a non-restricted streaming because of about 100 members from different countries.
Those people however complain because CR is the only place to watch those series online legally. The "license holders" on the other side should've known that mostly American people visit CR. Besides they don't care about the non-english users as there's not even a plan to provide french, italian or german subtitled series. Sadly there's no information when or what will change in the future. Just the mandatory "we are trying really hard"...

I am really pissed by now because I don't see anything changing soon. I'd already be happy about some information regarding "streaming in countries other than the US".

Sooooo....... I'm guessing that the other Yuri anime we just got in, Kanamemo, is also just a "change with the times" that "reflects our current society", right????
Because, I'd really like an explanation, in detail, of how a young adult(20yrs-old?) female placing a child(7yrs-old?) girl in her lap, and fondling her breasts, "reflects our current society".

While you're at it, please explain how an adult looking woman rubbing her head against the lap and abdomen of a 13-year-old girl while grabbing the girl's breast and saying, "let me FONDLE the pain away", reflects our current society.

Heck, since I've asked this much, I might as well ask for an explanation of how an adult looking female, holding a 7-year-old looking girl up off the ground against her adult-looking breasts while exposing all the child's private parts(chest AND sexual region) by holding up her dress and swinging her from side to side, REFLECTS OUR CURRENT SOCIETY.....?

Why not? ---and who says it has to be an old yaoi series? I would be more than happy with new(er) stuff

Look, I can understand why you are upset that you can't view the content, but whether it is the laws in your country or license holders in Japan, CR is still going to have to play by the rules. Some of these series may become available to the restricted countries later as licensing issues are sorted out.
I'm not completely sure, but I guess this all has to be done on a case by case basis. It is probably a fairly complicated process. I don't see how people blaming crunchyroll for this helps at all. What if CR just decides that this unreasonable anger directed at them no longer makes for good p.r. and restricts their business to U.S. only? Not that they will, but I could see that it wouldn't be beyond the realm of possibility.
I'm sure CR would love to make the content available to you. More business is always a good thing. For whatever complicated reason (such as being a legitimate site with partnership agreements), they are restricted from streaming everywhere. How is that their fault?

Yes, I know that it's a complicated process. Most members understand that though there are people who don't.
And people started blaming CR because of its information politics. It's just plain rude to let paying members find out themselves which shows they are allowed to watch on CR. Aoi Hana is the first series where a mod posted that it's only available to XY.
That's the only problem I see at the moment. You can make nearly everyone happy if you properly explain why it takes so long or it isn't available. I don't know if CR is allowed to tell us but it would surely bring back people's trust. If it weren't for the first episode of Kanamemo that I've seen just now I would have canceled my membership.

PS: I suggest a newsletter to let people know if a series gets available in more regions. Someone mentioned that before: at first limited to the US only and a few weeks after available for everyone, but no information about it. I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say and the same goes to shinji and his colleagues.

Indeed... what "current society" is this from? Because I think I live in a different "current society."

Hi there! Thanks to CrunchyRoll for including Aoi Hana in your Summer lineup. I've been a fan of the manga for a long time and was surprised and delighted to learn of your simulcast. Also, thanks for streaming a yuri anime as well. I know it's a risk (as America isn't as tolerant as we pretend to be) but you will find Yuri fans to be among the most loyal, active and vocal group you've ever encountered.

We will go to the ends of the earth and beyond for good yuri. I hope to see more titles in the future, but for now I will enjoy your excellent current catalog.

::HUGS::

Hi Arca (Yellow)

@forum

This series looks *so* good and I just want to convey my appreciation to the site for showing it. I'm going to look into this membership thing now: yes we are loyal, and it is also stupidly hard to find good Yuri published in the UK.

@The_X_box_360

I sympathise with your feelings, but you are taking the OP's comment completely out of it's original context, which is the Aoi Hana series. I assure you, this series is nothing like the one you describe. I recognise there may be some confusion with the Yuri label, but it's parallel to the same situation with anime: anime is not all sex and violence, despite what some may assume from watching elements of it. Yuri is also not all about sexual exploitation, or even sex.

Frankly, I'd call the series you describe Hentai, if what you describe is the case, and leave it at that. I don't assume that because some anime featuring heterosexual interaction involves sexual exploitation, all anime featuring heterosexual interaction is on the same level. Associating Yuri Hentai with Yuri is like associating Hentai with all mainstream anime.

@missnthrope

There are quite a few female Yuri fans too: a number of us even enjoy good Yaoi, (gay fiction is actually fairly popular with lesbians) so bring it on I say ^^

A proxy? what do you mean?

Explaniation tl;dr Version
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_proxy
In Short it's a server that you use to bypass Region blocking or hide your IP address, because you would be using that server's IP address ...they are easy to find..just goggle Internet Proxy
