fan fiction is what should have been and could have been, but actually never got to be . . .

Shrieks with joy as my imagination runs wild!

Fanfiction is one of the best forms of literature for anyone from any fandom. It allows the fans to give each character a certain flavor or depth that can only be felt as a fan. Fanfiction is able to change one's views about a series, sometimes about certain things in life if its well-written. It is a way to escape realty and live in a world that you admire so. Just like when you write original stories, fanfiction is a way to let out your emotions that you may have bottled up inside all this time.

Well, one might as well say that you can change the flow of the main story. Like have a "Final Mix" (if you will).

ie;

Ace = died in the manga or anime

your POV

Ace = gets rescued in time by his brother; Luffy

---

Well, that's what I do in deviantart :D. While I don't draw, I only convey it through stories.

It may sound stupid, but I write some fanfics to see how certain characters play out. Like, what would they do in this situation or how would they react to this character.

Maybe to escape reality?

I write fan fiction because even though I enjoy the anime and the characters within it, I'd still like to see them in other situations that you wouldn't expect or you just wouldn't see in an actual anime. I know the fan fiction I write would at best, be a small omake section at the end of a show.

I enjoy writing fanfiction for the challenge of trying to create a unique story with characters that already have personality foundations. Besides, sometimes taking a familiar character and then throwing them in a totally unlikely scenario with outrageous reactions can be a lot of fun. So far I've written fan fics for Skip Beat on a different site and I love it a lot. It's a great break from writing original work once in a while.

In a way, writing is a way to let your imaginations run free, to, in a sense, become "God". When you write, you have infinite power. You're able to dream up your fantasy and escape mundane ways, no ? People write fanfiction and ask "What if this happened ?" and they write their own outcome, their own ending because they want to change something within someone else's work and have control. In this instance, control is not a bad thing because this is writing, and with writing, nothing can hold you back. It is an escape.

because it lets the writer tell a story of what they think should've happened in the anime or whatever it is you write a fanfic about. you can make it into whatever you want it to be with the familiarity already established with the characters.

and its fun.

Many times.
In my case to write stories/texts that people before havent.
Usually about anime, manga or games.
Have much freedom to do so compared to other genres.
Also, writing down my viewpoints, thoughts and interests in order for others to see.
Not meaning other people will like what and how i make my texts.

Well......i do have some readers on asianfics......

To entertain myself mostly. It' funny putting characters that I love or hate in weird and hilarious situations! Then I posted on of my stories randomly and it turned out other people liked it too. Who knew?! So then I just kept on writing. I haven't written anything for awhile, but hopefully I'll have some times soon to write again.

I've never been one to write it, but I've always seen it as just a way for people to share their ships, or "campaigns" if you will.
