So there has been much discussion on leaning towards a global currency in the near future. I was wondering how people felt about this idea? Do you feel it would be beneficial for all countries or just some, or even if it's a good idea at all? Could something like this work or would it just cause more controversy between other countries?

Please tell me how you interpreted that the US is lagging behind from this article? I'm interested to hear.

Well China has been talking about this for quite some time and they, along with Russia, are trying to make it a heavily discussed top at the upcoming G8 summit. The G8 consists of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the US. The European Union is also in attendance but doesn't have a seat. As some of you may know about a decade ago the Euro was introduced in Europe and is widely used by 16 different countries. This has turned out to be very beneficial and has given hope that something like a global currency could work. For something like this to go in affect in would definitely be discussed within the United Nations as well as other global organizations and it would be quite some time before it would actually be put into affect.

Actually, I'm surprised how you can't interpret this as a sign that US is lagging behind from this article. I'm interested to hear.

Well you just said the US is lagging behind, which could be interpreted in a million different ways depending on what you think they are lagging behind on. You never made it clear what you believed the US to be lagging in. As far as them lagging on the topic of pushing for a global currency, China and the US have been discussing this matter for quite some time. Regardless of America's stance on the situation I don't see how this would make the US lagging behind. Explain?
