Question is how many who can still be in love, like for eternity, without having sex, even once?

A lot of Hollywood movies these days also follow the pattern of sex-->fall in love, rather than fall in love-->sex

Do you know why it's difficult for people to maintain a relationship between sex and love? And do you know why nobody knows what love is? Because sex was never meant to be about love, it's a method of reproduction encouraged by a momentary euphoria that follows the act.
And love is a contrived notion that encompasses the necessary emotions to support and raise an offspring, perhaps not in today's world but in the ancient uncivilized world.

They were never meant to be some glorious thing.

It's completely natural for young people (especially boys) to think about sex. Hormones have a major hand in this aspect. I think we often confuse sex and love and combine it into the same feeling. You can love someone without having sex and you can have sex with someone without being in love. I think religion also plays a role in these territories. Sex is a tool for reproduction, in some religious societies it is forbidden to indulge in intercourse until you are married hence the confusion of having sex and being in love as the same thing. When we can separate these two unrelated feelings then we can better understand that they are two different emotions all together.

As for sex in the media, I agree that it is all over our popular means of advertisement and has been for several years. I do not feel that it is fully responsible for our increased sexual thoughts. I do feel however that men and women are now "advertised" as having god and goddess like bodies in which we are constantly comparing ourselves to. What we must remember is that the men and women that we see these ads, movies. etc., are typically and heavily photoshopped, cropped, airbrushed and "fixed" beyond what the true person looks like. I myself used to have a major body complex and constantly compared myself to the Victoria's Secret's catalog. After reading a few articles and coming to the realization that these beautiful and seemingly perfect women were mostly the creation of a hard working editor I was finally able to accept the person I am and settle the fact that I could never be them (no matter what!).

This form of media will never go away, and why should it? It's good advertising. It's what sucks you in to whatever they are selling. You will remember the beautiful woman selling car insurance, you will never forget the man selling the diet cola, and if the ad worked correctly you will remember the product they are selling! Enjoy the ads, just don't take them to heart. And remember, its mostly lighting, make-up and a heavy dose of photoshop.

sorry this was so long...

I personally believe that sex came before love and that it is a means of survival. Love is a name that we gave an emotion we feel for someone or thing. From that emotion comes action and that action is sex. Sex for some is about love and will not act in sexual acts until in love. But sex is also a way of expressing other emotions as well. It is not solely linked to love in my opinion. Yea little 13-14 year olds talking about their teacher or classmate is somewhat not in the right yet it is part of us as humans and a natural desire.
Sociaety made sex a sacred thing and now has went the opposite way and made it a means of entertainment, profit, and for some a lifestyle. Individuals must make sex a "beautiful" thing for themselves. Who to blame you ask? Contemporary lifestyle and us people who fuel the movie, ad, banners, and clothing industry

Glad to know theres more that think along the same lines. Things used to be black and white because there was so much conformity and right and wrong but in todays day and age its so blurred that theres really just gray. I mean there are the extremes but for the most part a lot of stuff is situational. Certain situations call for certain actions.

I think I heard this quote from somewhere

"After sex got easier to get, love became harder to find"

I think people forget what sex truly is nowadays. Sex is not about love, and you don't need to have it to express it. There are couples in the world who are incapable of having it, yet remain together throughout the spiritual bond which we call love. Sex is just an innate animal instinct to pass off one's genes to provide for another generation. It's funny because our species is the only one who believe that the act of having sex has a significant depth to it when it really doesn't. Other animals who have sex never make a big deal out of it.

There's many factors that contribute to sexuality and relationships

The media, pressure to fit in, recklessness and impulses along with crazy hormones . . . it all comes together

It's our faults. Even those that take sex seriously. Because they don't do anything to change it. Yeah, I don't do squat. Partly because I kinda like it. Partly because I'm a wimp at trying to change the flow of the masses.

That's how it is nowadays and from what I see is social media and media in general have been showcasing? there may be a better word but i can't think of any right now.

Like I remember when I was in highschool me and my friends and the majority of kids back then were all still active outside riding bikes, skateboarding, sports and majority of kids were writing letters etc. and go meet the parents before taking them out.

but now its like 7th graders throwing down on "player spit" on girls that aren't even "developed" yet, and go to their friends house and wham bam thank you ma'am and I'm like damn wtf...

Kids be worrying/crying more over their smartphones breaking and being able to hit up so-n-so on all social media vs their virginity.

Clubs too! like even now I still careless about going to clubs and being in that environment let alone drink/do drugs and now kids are all about "yolo" for the wrong reason and doing drugs, drinking, and wearing club dresses to school like wtf smh.
