Aye... Too lazy to repeat everything so I'll just put the link of my blog post (for my 1st impression) and give you the synopsis.

My first impression:
http://simplybill.wordpress.com/2009/07/10/princess-lover-first-impression-and-expectation/

Synopsis:

http://simplybill.wordpress.com/2009/06/12/an-early-review-summer-anime-2009/

Teppei Arima is a second-year high school student who lost both of his parents in a traffic accident on their way home from a family trip. His grandfather, Isshin Arima, happens to wield the puppet strings in Japan’s vast economy and demands that Teppei becomes his successor as the head of the Arima Group. To prepare for his debut into high society, Teppei enrolls in an elite academy for the scions of the rich and powerful.

Simple thoughts:

1. Hop, step, jump.
2. Saber.
3. I hope that it will not be another formulaic harem show.
4. Main lead looks badass.

I like harem anime shows as much as the next guy, but it's nice to have a male lead that isn't a total tool for a change. He can fight!

It's a neat twist to a type of series that we're all too familiar with. Plus the female leads are gorgeous looking- always a plus.

I'm really looking forward to how this show turns out and that it- hopefully- won't disappoint.

Well yes. It is a good breather after being in tons of harem shows with boring male lead (Rosario+Vampire, Akane-iro, and a lot more). That's one reason why I started watching Tears to Tiara also (though I dropped it for no apparent reason. At least I can hope that this will be good and not hopelessly bad.

Still, the Shugo Chara designs intrigued me. It's not that they look bad. But it is just unfamiliar to me. I'd prefer the art in the VN, however.

Tsukune from Rosario + Vampire actually grows into a much cooler/badass character in the manga. And I thought the lead guy in Akane-iro was actually quite normal. I mean, he wasn't a weakling at least, not with the nickname 'Genokiller' lol.

Still, when I saw Teppei's fiance Sylvia I thought she looked like Saber from Fate/Stay Night as well.

I think my favorite harem show and still one of my first anime ever since I went hardcore on it is Seto no Hanayome.
Well, I don't expect much this summer as you can see. I am rather satisfied with last season's anime and yeah...

a few notes on Seto no Hanayome and why fansubs actually is troubled subbing it...

1. Normally, an episode for an average anime is about 300-400 lines of dialogues, However, Seto no Hanayome is usually 500 lines because it's slapstick to the extreme.

2. Machine gun speaking...

3. Very japanese related such a pun jokes, cultural reference and...

Nothing more to add but maybe KitaEri is playing in it ? lol...

I know I am a bit off-topic but I might as well say this;

I'm not a big fan of Fate/stay night or of Saber...
I smell damsel in distress which I also don't like
But, Megumi Toyoguchi is playing in it!

I have seen the first episode of this show, I like some of the characters already. So I think I might like it as long as it does not get as shallow and pointless as Naruto, or Bleach.

I have to agree with TobiaSR32 based solely on what we've seen already, which I admit isn't much so far.

As SR32 said, the male lead has some skills for once and has a pretty good idea when to use them. He also doesn't seem completely clueless when dealing with the opposite sex. Those 2 points alone give me some hope the series won't back-slide into the 'formula' approach.

( Now, watch me be completely wrong about it, and the show turns to suck by episode 3, which will be the Hot Springs episode, or the Festival episode, or Shopping trip/date episode, well you get the picture ....)

another great anime, I hope they wouldn't end it with only 12 episodes or so.
