volksmenner 8293 cr points Send Message: M Offline	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 4/9/10 , edited 4/9/10 i think anyone and everyone who was the least bit interested in anime was watching dbz, sailor moon or pokemon even all three during the 90's. both sailor moon and pokemon were great for the entire first season, but after that they kindafell flat. dbz was the opposite. it started slow but was soon enough my new drug by the time of the freiza saga up until the cell games saga. after that, well ... lets not talk about that. and then there was ninja scroll (the original movie). jubei kibagami vs. the eight devils of kimon. my favorite quote ... jubei: "oh, my best hat..." classic. i only wish a legitimate sequel or anime series followed the movie. anyway, i think the 90's had some great stuff, i think the 2000's have them beat imo. but bakabeener has a good point. there is a special place in my heart for 80's anime and even an especially special place for robotech. i <3 space operas and robotech is one of the best. in its day, there was nothing like it period. the story was so deep philosophically, politically, romantically et al. and then the mecha designs were just so damn cool. the vf-1 valkyrie is as cool and modern as anything today. /reminisce
