British school pupils are being advised that they have a “right” to enjoy a good sex life and that having intercourse on a regular basis can be good for their cardiovascular health.

A National Health Service leaflet about the benefits of sexual pleasure has been circulated to parents, teachers and youth workers.

Authors of the document argue too much emphasis was laid on the need for “safe sex” and relationships while the main reason to have sex, that is, for enjoyment, has been pushed back, reports Times Online.

The leaflet, entitled Pleasure and drawn up by NHS Sheffield, reads: “an orgasm a day keeps the doctor away.”

It also says: “Health promotion experts advocate five portions of fruit and veg a day and 30 minutes’ physical activity three times a week. What about sex or masturbation twice a week?”

Steve Slack, director of the Centre for HIV and Sexual Health at NHS Sheffield, said that teenagers have as much right as an adult to an enjoyable sex life.

Slack, one of the authors, also said the move could help delay teenage sex.

But Anthony Seldon, master of Wellington College, Berkshire, who introduced classes in emotional wellbeing, appeared less convinced, saying the approach was “deplorable”.

You might or might not know the novel "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley, but reading this thread:
http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-256025/government-sponsored-agency-of-britain-say-that-toddlers-who-dislike-spicy-food-are-racist

and also reading these news today reminded me of it and kept me grinning for about an hour.

EDIT: PLEASE!! Read the novel! It's quite educational if you need to judge some of the latest "strange" developments in western societies.

For the first time in my life I'm glad I'm older than teenage and don't live in UK (I always loved UK and still love it)! What about teenage pregrancy? I don't like the morals word but this is too much. I'm not a genius in English but from what I've read are they trying to force even 13-14 years old folks to do you know what? <_<

PS I haven't found Brave New World still and it's a shame coz antiutopia books are my favourite..

Not exactley. By destroying so called "antiquated" social norms and setting the "right" role models you get the same effect. The dumb masses will think it were their own decisions. --> Paris Hilton, Christina Aguilera, 50cent... something like the lowest of dumb *ssholes, mentaly disabled and emotional cripples.

You should definitley read it. Combine it with "Nineteen Eighty-Four" (George Orwell) and you get an exaggerating summary of present day western societies.

And it was written in 1931.

OK, you didn't report. But you didn't say why it should get locked.

1984 is genius (yet the movie was pain in my arse, I couldn't finish it even though I'm a big fan of John Hurt ). Have to find Zamyatin's We too.
Funny that I kinda like some Aguilera's songs tho her Dirrrrrty image is kinda weird. Ah no need to watch mtv to become like those people because there is always a director of your own school who makes you a sex-beast for your own health o_O
