Hey guys!

Okay, okay, I should’ve put a note about Kanamemo so I will with this next one - Yokuwakaru Gendai Maho. It joins our recent list of yuri/loli titles so don’t say I didn’t warn ya this time!

The first episode launched on Saturday, July 11th at 10 am to EVERYONE so if you haven't seen it yet, what are you waiting for? Subsequent episodes will launch every Saturday at 10 am to members first and non-members will be able to watch them a week later.

Here’s a brief synopsis:

The story revolves around Koyomi Morishita, a clumsy high school freshman girl who is often mistaken for a grade-schooler because of her shortness. Koyomi becomes a disciple of Misa Anehara, a 25-year-old graduate student who happens to be one of the most powerful modern-day magicians.

Gals with magical powers - GIRL power!

And I'll list out those annoying regions restrictions. This is available to all EXCEPT the following:

Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Nepal, Bhutan, Afghanistan, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Macau, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Fiji, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and Mauritius. Sorry guys!

I'm glad that Crunchyroll is branching out to more daring and R rated contents; yay for diversity
but it wouldn't hurt to add a little genre & rating for each anime on their own page.
The synopsis for many shows doesn't say much as to where an anime is going or at least the general idea.
Plus, most of the time, the synopsis is quite misleading.
As for ratings, it can warn younger viewers of the inappropriate content.
There you have it, three reasons to add genre + rating for each anime.

I wouldn't know, I've never got a warning for anything yet
Besides, for the Kanamemo thing, a lot of people were complaining that there was a lack of warning of the loli/yuri content.
So i'm guessing they don't have it?

[edit] even if they do, it would still be nice to have a rating, or at least a list of genres =)

-So I'm watching the first episode of this, thinking, "with the trashy hentai/yuri CR's been vomiting on us, lately, this is bound to be fanservice crap".
-Then, just as I was beginning to feel that this might turn out to be a decent series, I noticed that the camera angle was low on a shot of some little girl's skirt at around 3:30, just as I began to hear the sound of a gust of wind.
-Of course, the phrase, "I knew it", passed through my mind as I braced myself for a panty shot of a little girl that would, for me, kill this show's credibility.
-However, I was wrong........ the LITTLE GIRL WASN'T WEARING ANY PANTIES, at all.... -_-

On a more serious note... Going by the first episode, I feel that this is quite a decent series.

Granted, it does feature animated nudity of a child. However, I dare say that this tasteless fanservice was done in good taste, or "with class".

-First of all, to my pleasant surprise, the makers chose NOT to spam the entire episode with this fanservice. It seems, this anime's makers might realize that moderation does count for something.

-Not only was the nudity/fanservice plot relevant, it was done without the little girl being subjected to overt sexualization or being the victim of pedophilia.

-Unlike, the three other simulcasts from this season, on Crunchyroll; the story for Yokuwakaru Gendai Maho doesn't revolve around tasteless pedophiliac shenanigans, tentacle rape, raging lesbian hormones, orgasmic urination fetishes, or pornographic masochism.

-This show, Yokuwakaru Gendai Maho, seems to be the only CR simulcast from this season that doesn't bank it's success on taboo sex and perverted fetishes; and, in turn, seems to be the only series with an actual plot.

*Seems a series of substance might have squeezed through the cracks of the recent wall of filth Crunchyroll's been subjecting it's members to.

I can only hope that we'll start to see a generous amount of decent simulcasts landed on this site, before Funimation and other, emerging, entities began to get serious. I'd like to see things seriously take off around here, before CR realizes that no site is too big or successful to fail or be crushed, the hard way. o_o

I didn't get the impression this was a yuri story. Does that develop later? I haven't really read up on it.

(It won't be a loli show for most of it either, but ep 1 does give us a 10-year-old in a couple of service scenes, so all pedos enjoy it while you can before the story jumps forward six years to her present age. )

I appreciate what CR is doing for us. I personally have been enjoying your selections! It keeps my Membership locked in.

However, I hope you found some yaoi that you're trying to get up soon. While I wouldn't intend to watch it, I know the girls out there would want some service too.
