I'm Filipino and I think I hate it. Well, I don't hate Filipinos but I hate the way the Philippines is run.

The government and politics are terrible. Fernando Poe, Jr., definitely would have won the elections before if he hadn't died. And he's just an actor! What would he know about politics?

Garbage. A lot of people there just keep tossing their garbage here and there, even in Manila bay and canals without care. That's part of the reason why the typhoon Ondoy was so strong. The waters are getting warmer and if it doesn't stop soon, a lot of the diverse marine life are going to cease to exist. The wildlife really is in jeopardy though. Even birds that have "tags" on them to keep people from hunting them down to prevent extinction are being hunted anyway!

A lot of women go to other countries illegally and marry then flee. It's giving other Filipinos/as a bad name. They're creating stereotypes for us, and not good ones.

Hopefully for the 2010 elections, the Filipino people actually try and elect a good leader to help the Philippines escape its impoverished state and who actually cares about the people, not just about money.
