Look up the movie 21 in wiki and read about what Hollywood did to that.

you know what, whatever. Go burn some those dvds or something, i don't care. If you don't like this, then don't watch it, more seats for me and my friends. Just because you hate it doesn't mean you can ruin it for the people who love the cartoon enough to not care about the cast because that is how much we love the cartoon, you guys protesting obviously hate the show, so you go to a protest to give a bitch slap to the show itself. Oh yeah the producers are nickelodeon, think about that. And about the movie 21, the only people that know and care are the people themselves, because the movie did good, not that I know of because I never watched the movie

I DON'T HATE THE SHOW and I don't appreciate you keep referring me to "you guys." I'm just an individual that found out about the movie cast and how it's sounding very suspicious of how the actors were cast especially when DB movie was out not too long ago with a similiar style of casting. I saw the trailer already and it looks pretty cool, but Paramount and Nickelodeon still have time to listen to the audience and fans regardless if you're a follower of the show or not. The live action Transformers movies did well because it was what the fans wanted to see and I enjoyed watching them. I never watched the movie 21 either.

look, sorry if i offended you, but i believe there is nothing wrong ith the cast. For one we have not seen the movie. If the movie does offend asians, then we should o something because we watched and judged the movie itself. That is what happened with transformers 2 with the twins. Look I came off at the wrong end, and I'm sorry, just don't judge something that we are not clearly sure about.

I agree, we should wait and see, and maybe the white actors were cast for a reason, but I still have doubts in my mind why Paramount and Nickelodeon couldn't find one asian protagonist especially with a film that has an asian theme. BTW, Mr. Miyagi from Karate Kid movies had no martial arts skills and yet lot of people thought he was a master. That little kid who plays the monk may have a stunt double so he doesn't necessarily have to do everything, it would be a setback in the filming process if he got hurt.

Yah he does, it's an asian lady, heard she's a really good martial artist, don't remember her name. And for who plays the monk, in my mind is either the kid Fearless, because they are the closest to the monks, but the problem is that I don't know whether they know enough english for the movie and how old they are.

I don't believe the protestors want the film to fail, nobody does, they just want change. I understand where gwingman is coming from though, it's better to see something made than nothing. gwingman and assassian_creed also need to understand where the protestors are coming from too. Hollywood is very stubborn and it's all about business. That's probably why Jesse McCartney was cast originally, even though he's not even a veteran actor, but he's very popular. Growing up I would hear my sister who is asian frustrated that she would never get a lead role in a play even though she was better than the other lead actors/actresses. She would tell me the other actors and actresses would even come up to her after her audition and would tell her she would get the lead for sure, but it never happened. My sister did get a lead in Miss Saigon though probably because she looks foreign. When it comes down to it, Hollywood just seems to care about money rather than the integrity and quality of the show, and I'm not saying the film is poor quality because I have not seen it yet. Who knows, maybe the film will be a success, but not without some issues which was not a good idea for the studio to do.

Ok I see about the issue with Hollywood and all, but think, it could be worse. For one, all actors, including side roles, could all be white and be a problem, but it isn't. Zuko could have been played by Jesse McCartney, but he isn't now, Dev Patel is, and all you haters who hate him suck it up, he was in one movie, who knows, action may be his calling. They could have chose a white person to direct, but they didn't and again you haters again, for Shamalan, this is probably his first non-thriller movie. For the Hollywood thing again with people using white people, please listen to me at this. Think back. They had a Charlie's Angels movie. I never watched it so I never know. But before the movie, there was a series who were all white. To the movie, two were white and one was full asian. It wasn't like the series at all and it was a live action series to a live action movie. They actually used an asian instead of a white person, but people who loved the series must hate the movie because it wasn't like the series at all because the cast. This is like the same thing, but it is a cartoon, so to make it into a live-action movie, they can expand than what cartoon can, but at the same time still be the same, if you get what I mean. To be honest, what they were doing is not make it so close to the movie. Think about it, if this movie was going to be close to the show itself, then it would be boring. But, like the DB movie, who did it far from the show itself, it became totally bad. So I don't think it's a race factor, but a movie factor to do something but at the same time do nothing.

To be fair i would expect most actors and actress's to be white in a western movie , just like most actors and actress are japanese in japanese movies or indians in indian movies.

BTW korea his remade mr and mrs smith , i would expect white people to show up in lead roles in that.

Well, the United States does not have a indigenous culture (except the native American Indians) and is not as homogeneous as Japan, India, and Korea, U.S. is more of a mix. I understand what you're saying though, since U.S. is predominantly caucasian.

I don't really have a problem with the cast. In fact, they're are a lot of them I have never heard of before. I think it would be pretty nice to see them (hopefully) grace the screen. Dev Patel impressed me greatly when I saw Slumdog Millionaire. I'm kind of excited on how he will play Zuko.

Seems to me, Charlie's Angels can be any race, I remember watching some re-runs and I didn't see a particular culture except American. In fact in the tv show, farrah fawcett was replaced, though she was replaced by another white actress. Avatar seems to be more about a certain culture. I understand what you're saying about Charlie's Angels cast being changed for the movie, and thats just like the upcoming Avengers movie with Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury so I won''t argue there.
