All I can say is that we'll have to see who gets the positions.

I don't care if the new mods get ban powers. As long as they can lock threads, and edit things it's all good. That's more then enough. It really annoys me when there are 10 reported threads and no mods around. Sometimes a mod isn't around until 5 hours later.

Not to mention most of the forum mods rely only in reports. They're never around to see user's posts. I've seen a mod post in a thread once, and right after his post there are 3 users spamming, and having stupid arguments, filling 3 pages of "you fail" pictures.
You'd think a mod would be in the forums and checking things for his/her self. To be honest, I don't think we need more mods. I think they should just slap bedlam and nicole as forum mods. Both were doing a great job locking threads. But I guess they're busy as well =___=;

Oh well. Good luck, guys!

I'd like to be a mod. :p

Ruling with an iron fist.

I visit these forums frequently and find them entertaining. Lol.

As people already stated, as long as they choose mods who are capable of handling the forums, its all good.

Ehm, I don't think that age plays that big of a role if said individual acts responsibly, and expresses himself in an eloquent fashion. There were quite a few users who became mods because they met up with the aforementioned criteria in spite of being below the age of 18; MushroomJay, Mochacafe, Zen0oy, Junglizm...

Though it would be understandable if age would be a factor. Mods are at the risk of being directly exposed to non-pg13 material all the time, and will have to take care of it. Believe it or not..as a mod you get to see a lot of sh*t you wouldn't even have dreamt of, things that mostly aren't noticed by normal users because it gets quickly removed, or is something to which users don't have access to such as videos pending for approval. This being said I don't think that it would be all that good if said mod isn't past 18. And I'm pretty sure that if we'd look at it from a legal perspective, then it isn't okay either.

As for join dates. I think it's only logical that people who joined in the last 2 months will not be the 1st choice. I mean, think about it, would you pick a user who hasn't many posts to judge from, hasn't much experience with the community and the forums, didn't have enough time to thoroughly familiarise himself with the whole website, community and its rules? Only chance I see is that their application would be so furiously eloquent that the people who have to pick mods would be so astounded by it that they might be actually willing to give said individual a chance.

On a side note, it's pretty interesting having to see that quite a few individuals nuked in the recent months only to come back with new accounts and then run for Forum moderator. What's even more interesting is to see that they all act as if they were new...but make grave mistakes to support their credibility. Very interesting, indeed. *wondering what the point is behind this*

Well said, flo. Honestly if I were a mod and picking out applications. I would narrow it down to:

-15+
-More than 2000 CR points. (Not counting G.Bing. I'd check the c.r points for forum posting. It should be more than 1,000.)
A lot of mods make the mistake of seeing a lot of c.r points but not checking the status. A lot of users can get more than 2,000 c.r points just by g.bing, or by being a star member.
-Should be a member as old as 6 months.
-Then their overall application.

You mean, more than 2000 posts? I wouldn't give CR points any credit. You can get tons of posts just by visiting the Forum Game section though which doesn't require more than a few words...I guess it would require to check a few posts of said individual before making any decisions, no? Plus the forum post count is mixed with group forum posts....so..I guess revising a few posts that are actually in the main forums would be required.

I think Shroominferno and Kippu made really valid points.
The ones who are active and make valid forum posts frequently would have an advantage over those who used the forum for frequent spamming or the users who are inactive here. Most of the regulars will be familiar with the structure of the forums as well as the rules therefore they would know how to implement them. I think BasouKazuma will surely pick the people who he thinks are most capable of handling this task based on their activities in the forum posts as well as their applications. There is no harm in applying anyway. Like xbloodyvalentinex said, good luck to all those who applied. =)

Kippu would make an awesome mod. (Getting hopes up? Sorry! ><)

It's not age that really matters, it their maturity.

Other than that you guys expressed my opinions on a good candidate. Lol.
