(If this is a repeat, delete it. I tried to look around to see if anyone talked specifically about corporations, and couldn't find anything. Sorry if it is a duplicate, mods/members.)

I am tired of Corporations. It's in America/Instant Gratification USA and it's destroying the rest of our world.

Walt Disney. Wal-Mart. K-Mart. Hollister. Shell. Sunoco.

Those are only a few of the many corporations that dominate our worlds, have us in a merciless grip, pay workers in China and Indonesia 10 cents per hour, and are able to pollute areas and waters for the amount that their contracts will allow them to.

Are you worried about how Corporate America will make us crash and burn? If you're in another country, how do you feel about corporations dominating our world?? Post your thoughts about Corporations.

We need them to help keep the economy running, don't we? You may disagree with them, but there's no way in hell they'll ever stop.

Yes, they are vital factors for the economy, or are they?

My opinion however is that big corporations have negative effects on small businesses. That is not lucrative in my opinion, to the general populace and the economy.

Anyways, if you are interested, read Fast Food Nation, the author does not focus on fast food only but also on big corporations.

Hahaha, thank you. I used this avi long long time ago and it quite made a big impression on CR users. Well, I was very active long time ago, and someone noticed me and asked me to put it back, thus I did. Lol.

dont blame them. blame the ppl that run your country. if your country think that your worker is making too little money or kids in your country is too young to work you need to get them to change the law in your own country. what ppl around the world dont understand is the Corporate y can do this because you let them do it to you or your leader is too greedy and doesnt care about you.

Yeah, unfortunately I don't really care, and neither dose anyone else. As long as these things stay in business, people will keep going and they'll get more money. And you can't blame the corporations, blame the people that allow it, like the government.

I know it's the governments fault. But corporations are corrupt. They are considered 'a person' and take advantage of our government.

It is extremely significant that the coporations do not crash and burn as we need them. A boost in industries is good for the economy and also helps in the propserity cycle. Although it is saddening to see how these companies treat its workers; 10 cents is very low. If these companies fail, then it would just make the current recession worse. Many people will be unemployed and its not going to have a good affect on others. Global warming is a big problem at the moment therefore I just hope that most countries will meet the emmissions target and not make the situation worse.

Just watch the movie 'The Corporation' and you'll see that despite how much we do need these corporations, it's sick how they don't have to pay taxes, can pay their way out of anything, and lay off 30,000 workers+ to get CEOs raises. And yeah, it's really really sad to see how low profits these workers are paid.

I agree they do a number of questionable things. However the sad truth is that it isn't your government to blame. It is you. You being the average consumer. You don't have to buy at Wal Mart, you can go to the local guy. Wal Mart has it cheaper though so they go to them, local guy gets no business, etc etc. As for 10 cent labor, like others said, that is the fault of poor labor laws in those countries. Corporations, or better said, businesses, are about making money. If they can get one guy to do this work for 5 dollars an hour, but a different guy will do the same work for 1 dollar an hour they would be plain stupid to not take the 1 dollar guy.

Also remember the law of nature. The survival of the fittest to be precise. These corporations got this big because they simply out did their competitors on multiple levels. It isn't like Sam Walton got a government grant of millions and was given free labor. His kids may be abusing things but his company got where it was because he worked both hard and smart earning everything he had.

Corporations are scums, they pay their workers with a pay parallel to those in the third world countries. They treat their workers like rags, while the higher-ups enjoy incredible benefits, six to eight digit pay, live in luxury homes. And they are of course immune to the economic crisis.
