My membership was scheduled to expire in August, but I just renewed it with the four month deal. I used PayPal to check out and it set up a recurring payment plan with CR that will not charge me until the first membership expires in Aug. So it should be the same for you. If you buy it now, it will not charge you $50 until your first year has ended. Which I believe gives you a whole year to cancel the order without being charged should you decide you no longer want it. Thanks Shinji for making this available to everyone! -moose

I still have not and will not be charged until my membership expires first in Aug. As long as it says you have an inactive/pending year of Premium Member Service in your account, you should be able to contact CR and ask them to refund a year if it ever becomes a problem. But once it becomes active they won't refund it. -moose
