I have to wear uniform even though I go to a public school
I dont like them but I suppose there good not only because it ties you to the school, but because is a form of equality between everyone.

I think school uniforms are good in some grades... (prob cause i dont have to wear it myself).
You don't go after the look of the person, you go after their peirosnality.

School uniforms don't create equality. Humans strive for inequality subconsciously and often consciously in many areas of life. If Jimmy, in primary school, won't hate Bobby for his clothing, hell, he'll hate him because his nose looks like a limp knob, because his father is a midget and because the colour of his mother's car is ridiculous. He will find ways to pester Bobby because he hates his guts. School uniform will not change that.

I think school uniforms have their uses if their are proper rules and punishment for breaking the rules it teaches discipline and how to value your personal presentation. They might seem horrible when you are a kid but you can learn a lot by having to look smart and proper on a daily basis when you come to work as an adult and you need to dress formally you'll find it easier to adjust to.

I don't think your pessimistic generalization was sound for several good reasons. After all, was it the cyber world that's making us becoming like cyborgs? Or has the dehumanizing and authoritarian dogmas predated the lack of humanness interaction in cyber culture.

My school had school uniforms, I think it doesn't really improve anything, but it was okay because I didn't have to plan every outfit or feel under pressure to constantly have new clothes.

most of the schools at my country, you need to wear uniforms... I've got a good uniform anyways so I have no problem with it :3
I remember one time at our elective class, there's a debate about having school uniforms or not, and I was assigned at the not [which is cons and I was the leader]... well, I actually don't like to be in the cons coz I want school uniform anyways so yeah, we lost XDD it was a close fight though.

I hate school uniforms with a passion.
Absolutely useless, they won't make your school performance better, you'll just be forced to wear something that you don't like.

I wouldn't mind a school uniform at all if it looks cool.

I personally don't think that uniforms are too ugly, they're just too uncomfortable.
Sometimes I think that on the individual level, students like us don't have to worry about what to wear to school and ultimately there'll be no judgement of a person's character from what they wear, thus reducing peer pressure and like maybe stress from trying to dress nicely.

On the national level, maybe school uniforms make it easier for people to judge an individual according to their school, such as people thinking "oh, he's a stupid gangster" just because he goes to a school with a bad reputation, or "she must be well brought up" just because she goes to an elite school. On the other hand, it also makes it easier for teachers to recognise their students when they go out for study trips, and school uniforms can also, on some standards, reduce the number of students committing crimes or stuff like that, because doing that in uniform will just spoil their school reputation.
