No more heros is epic win. Even though it was kinda short I think I put about 15+ hours in it, i'll probably never forget about it.
By the way, for the sequel I heard there'd be alternate story lines, like you play as other characters like Shinobu and SHMF. (Watch the Letz Shake cut-scene again if you don't know who that is. Then report to my desk for a face-palm.) Anyone know if this is true or just some rumor going around?

It is a great game and Travis is easily one of the best new characters of this generation of games. I also really like Shinobu as well and I am looking forward to Desperate Struggle early next year.

I can't play the second one right now. I bought it on the Tuesday it came out and got to rank # 24 before my Wii screwed up the next day. Now I just need to find the time to call Nintendo and arrange for repairs. I really enjoyed it during the time that I played it, but I'm not sure that I really like the new assassins ( the ones that I faced so far) as much as the ones in the first game.

Well, I beat Desperate Struggle within a day or two a week ago after getting my repaired Wii back and I found the game to be better than the first, but not by much. It is definitely more polished than the first game and I found the graphics to be really great at times, while other times, it looked a bit worse than the first, but that is probably just me.

I also didn't find any of the bosses as appealing as in the first game. Most of the cast from the first game gave us background info and had somewhat engaging conversations with Travis that they were likable, but in this game, some bosses share about a sentence or two between Travis before fighting and dieing. I remember meeting up with a certain mailman from the first game in this one and I thought it was cool at first, but after seeing him, he just didn't compare to how he was in the first game. To me, it just seemed as if they went for much more outrageous and out-of-this-world bosses in this game than giving them any real personality and background info for me to care for, which is a shame as they had some great voice actors in Tara Strong (had like a total of 5 sentences between the 2 characters she voiced) and Jennifer Hale. The weak characters contributed to a storyline in making me not care and forgetting what it was even about. The storyline and world was supposed to be much darker than the first, or so I heard, but after playing the game and seeing the characters, I was more about quickly finishing the game to see what was next.

I like the new job minigames, but after a while, they were pretty stale. I found it quicker and a much more fun way to making money than in the first game throughout the first five times I played each. Even though the game was more streamlined, I wished they would have put more effort into making a lively overworld like they first promised when the game was announced, but I guess I'm ok with the result either way. I enjoyed the music in this game more than the first as well.

I decided to give this game an 8.6/10 (my score that I gave it on IGN) when I finished it compared to 8.2 for the first. Not much of an improvement, but still a better game than the first in most areas except for the areas that I went into here. This is not a review either. I just felt like saying how I felt (for so long) about the lacking areas of the game compared to the first one that I loved.

No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle is as good as the first game. Most people think that the sequels aren't as good as the original, but this game proves them wrong. It's like one of the only mature rated games for Wii. Haha to Ps3 and Xbox fanboys! Wii isn't only for kids! There are very hard games for Wii, and No More Heroes is one of them.

Both games are quite good, but I really do prefer the sequel over its predecessor.
