The only thing that CR might have a problem with this list of sites, is that it is referencing the competition on their own forum. Following a link on one of those sites, I found an "ebookjapan.jp" which seems to have a rather large selection of electronic manga for sale (in Japanese). It also looks like Toei's site offers some videos for download with a fee, but I think there's DRM involved.

When this thread was first handed over to me from zendude, I briefly considered listing it, but decided not to because it doesn't stream anime. Thanks for pointing it out. There are many (far too many to list them all) Japanese anime VOD/Digital rental services online that cost money and sometimes ask for a Japanese address (but not always) for access. Nevertheless, I added a few more to the list just for you. Sadly the download-to-own models often embrace DRM and require the use of Windows Media Player. Just a heads up! -moose
