Wow. this thread sure is discriminating other people in a way. I might get into a very heated argument because of my points of view and i will certainly lose that argument but i just cant keep my mouth shut. lord have mercy.

In a way, your posts tell me that people who dont believe in God will go to hell unless they are converted. The way you guys post it, reaching out is like trying to convince other people in the nicest way possible to believe in our God or suffer the not so very nice consequences of eternal damnation in the hands of the devil. Thats black mailing in a religious way.

In my point of view, there are a lot of non believers that do good because they want to do good and nothing more. They dont give a damn about God as long as they do good, their life is meaningful. They sacrifice themselves for the sake of others without even thinking that this is an easy way to heaven. Their following Gods commandments the way all of us should follow it. I say those people who do such things are closer to God and heaven than some of the believers.

Now comes the hard part that caused a lot of arguments on my part. They dont believe in our God thus they go to hell. Big misunderstanding on the believers. Just because we believe in God doenst give us a big advantage that we wont go to hell. Actually in my opinion, we are at a horrible disadvantage in this subject. We do good because we know that theres a big payoff in the end. Now dont tell me that you guys havent went thru this thinking because the priests usually warn us on this. The non believers do good without the knowledge that they are going to heaven as a repercussion of their actions. They are the ones who actually do the "Give and ask not for reward" phrase.

Ok... now that i have given my opinion, its high time that i get nailed on the cross because a lot of people dont agree with me one bit ^.^

Note: Non Believers in my post is equivalent to Atheists. Those who reject the existence of God but still does good because they believe it is what humans are suppose to do as humans and not because of some God told them to do so. I say they have a better chance of getting into heaven than many of the Believers, which includes me

I kind of understand what you're saying, like a child molestor who has a religion, can go to heaven but someone who spends their life to help others, but doesn't have a religion can't go to heaven? I think God wants EVERYONE to be in heaven, and if you find your faith,I don't think its necessariy what religion will make it up there or won't, because its not about competition, but its about whether or not you love and want God in your life.

Amen to that sister. That would also explain why Jesus was born among the poor and sinners. God wanted to show that its those non believers and sinners have as much chance to getting into heaven as those who believe. Being an atheist doesnt mean that he/she is going to hell automatically, its how he/she lives the life he/she has that will determine if its salvation or damnation in the end of his/her life

I have always been wondering, would a really good person who believes that God is the creator of the universe but doesn't believe that Jesus existed go to heaven?
I know that Jesus said that he is the only way to heaven, but what about good people who believe in God but claim they have no religion? Would they go to heaven?
I hope they do because I've been praying for a really good friend.

^ No. Just believing that God exists doesn't just cut it. They need to know who died on the cross to pay for their judgement and sins, and believe it and act upon it. Satan knew the Bible better than us, he knew who was Jesus and God, and he is the god of the world. Doesn't mean he's saved. The worldy things belong to him, Jesus is God of heaven. Knowing and believing is different.

So are you saying Jewish people can't go to heaven? Since they believe in God, but not Jesus well nobody can say who can or cannot go in, because its up to God to decide.

wow...okay. i kinda disagree with you guys though. because Jesus said " You are frm below;I am frm above. You are of this world;I am not of this world. I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am the one I claim to be, you will indeed die in your sins." John 8:23.
and also God clearly states the condition for us to hv eternal life. " For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM shall not perish but hv eternal life." John 3:16.
in my opinion, sin is death. you can not cleanse away your sin by doing good works. its only by believing in Jesus because he died for our sins. thats why its our mission to save them as Jesus said " Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. " Matthew 28:19-20.
it is a choice.
"be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect." nobody is perfect and thus nobody is sinless. God will not tolerate sin in heaven.
okay thats all i hv to say. sry if i hv hurt you guys in any way. God bless! ^_^

we might be friends but i sure hell will contradict you *scary face mode ON*

Heres something that will contradict those stuff. The story about the good samaritan. That should be enough, way enough to contradict it. Why would the bible give such an example? Doesnt it sound a little weird that a non believer had a leading role in probably one of the most famous chapters in the bible? In my opinion, doing good for no good reason is the basis of salvation and damnation. Thats why i dont read the bible anymore. There will always be contradictions, ALWAYS, when it comes from the bible

What is better?

Doing something good because you want to go to heaven? Or doing something good because you want to do something good?

I'd say the second one. I live my life the way I think is right. I'm always nice to people, I try to help people as much as I can. I do not believe in God, and I don't believe in Heaven or Hell either. I'm just trying to be a good person because I feel comfortable being like that.

But you people say I'll go to Hell whatever I do? That makes me hate the idea of 'God' even more.

Neither, because doing something good to praise Jesus is best.

We don't go to heaven based on our actions, it's faith and forgiveness that gets us there. If we become born again, we will have the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit is God dwelling within us. If we love God we will want to do good works to praise His name and make an impact on the world. People who think doing works gets you to heaven or hypocrites, because they are being self righteous thinking they are better then others because they do more. Self righteousness is pride, and pride is a sin.

And no one is pre-damned to hell, God loves everyone, he doesn't even want people to go to hell.
People can not go to heaven because they have sin, and there can be no sin in heaven. which is why God sent Jesus to die on the cross as a way to be forgiven from sin so we may enter heaven and have fellowship with God. God loves everyone, atheist, Muslim, Christian, whatever you are. And He wants to see everyone get saved so they can enter heaven and fellowship with him.

Pride is a sin? I just scrolled through the 'Christian' thread, and everyone was like: 'I'm a Christian and proud of it!'

Ouch. Sinners.

^^ pride and being proud of something are different things.

Pride is when you think you are better then others, believing you are superior, thinking others are worth less than you

Being proud of something is appreciating something and liking it. Being proud of say... singing isn't bad, but thinking you are better then others because of your singing is a sin.

^ The Bible says that he is willing to share with anyone who asks. God is revealed in creation, the bible says anyone curious about God will receive. The majority of the world knows about God, the Muslims are thought about Jesus in the Koran (I believe it thinks Jesus was a prophet but not the Jewish messiah) chances are if they hear about Jesus, the Muslims will tell their children that Christianity is a false religion that believes that Jesus is the son of God.

I did address it. They look at creation and wonder about God and they get curious. It doesn't mean that all Bible knowledge just pops into their head. God will send a way for them to learn.

Maybe they never wanted to learn in their lives?

If you read back I the Bible says anyone curious about Him will receive.
