No. Money is a means of accomplishing things. How else would we get the products and services that we need? The problem is that most people do not understand money, or how to use it. I hear people spout nonsense about money all of the time. Money should not be treated like a living breathing thing. It is not. Money does not DO ANYTHING. We do things with it.

Not to start a biblical discussion, but many people believe the Bible states that money is evil. It does not. 1 Timothy 6:10 states "For the love of money is the root of all evil. . ." The love of money is evil, not the money itself. Also, I believe we should not hate money either. Instead, we should be mindful of it and be responsible in the handling of it.

I have been on every end of money. Having none, having quite a bit, making a lot of it, losing a lot of it, owing a lot of it, paying a lot of it. It took me until I was 30 to figure out how to treat money, and now that I have a handle on it, it has become quite useful, and not a burden at all. I believe that parents should teach their kids how to handle money by the time they are teenagers. Unfortunately, many parents themselves do not know how to handle money. My parents never taught me how to handle money. I had to learn for myself, and made many mistakes. If I had understood at 15 what I knew at 30, I would not have any debt whatsoever, and that would include my house.

Those of you who are young (most everyone here) should not be afraid of money, but learn as much as you can about it. Not so you can be rich, but so you can be responsible, and not burdened like so many are today. You should learn the following.

1. Spend BELOW your means. (Your bills + entertainment should not take up so much income that little to nothing is left.)
2. How to save money. (1/2 you annual salary in deep savings, and at least 1 month in shallow savings.)
3. How to invest money. (Here your chance to make your money grow.)
4. How to avoid debt. (Loans only hold you back later when you would rather spend your money on something else.)
5. How to create and follow a budget. (This is what makes it all work.)
6. How to save and invest for retirement. (different than 2 &3)
7. NEVER use credit cards. (Paying for stuff later bites. You don't even remember what the money was spent on.)
8. When and how to buy a house. (You should never pay more than 1/4 of your monthly income on a house/rent. I spend less than 1/5. Also, 30 year loans are NOT the way to go.)
9. Live on a single income, even if you AND your spouse work. (This one saved us big time!)
10. How to save and buy a car in cash. (Not having a car payment is a major boost to your budget.)

This is not easy to do, but that is what makes it so rewarding. I got a lot of gray hairs over money. looking back, I see it was all a waste.

I've kicked around the idea of writing a guide for teenagers to teach them how to treat money from the start. So, that they will never be burdened by it. Too many people want to learn how to get rich. Instead, people should learn how to be happy with what they have.

I don't think Society relies to much on money (And Yes, I voted No ).
1.You wouldn't want to do another man's job and receive no reward.
2.It is also used as communication throughout the whole world.
3.When it's a hot summer and you want a cold drink...The only way to get it is to trade your dearest lamb...lol of course you wouldn't want that

Like they say, "Those who works hard achieve many things in Life" so yeah money is the source that binds us down in depression but also rewards us for our struggles we've put through

yes.
lols. you might hate money, but the world spins on money.
our current economic crisis puts even more pressure upon having money, so you should probs stop hating it...
(that's even more if you live in a slightly less developed country that runs on like free trade - like a country without a government or heirachy so the economy is free fall and yeh... )

For most part of our lives. U need money to survive. But the suck parts is that people do not always have money for things such as luxurious things and college education.
