Ken Akamatsu has confirmed in a May 18th blog post that there will be a live-action version of his popular show and manga Negima! debuting on Japanese television in 2008. This will be an addaption of the original Negima!, not the recent alternate retelling, Negima!?

Not sure if anyone caught this bit of news yet, but being the huge Negima fan I am (Hey, look at my avatar, lol), this came out of the blue! Not a series I would think would translate to live action and wow, there will be need for a HUGE casting call, we shall see I guess. The one thing I can hopefully hang my hat on being good is that last line and please hope that one action version of this fine manga can finally stay true to the manga! Take care and get your input in as you wish!

Regarding the above posts, it sounds interesting. Ecspecially if they act out the ecchi. Sounds like a weird idea though. They already had that Bleach musical. It was fighting with swords made out of foil...

Really? Live-action Mahou Sensei Negima?! wow...I wonder if it's going to follow the anime, or the manga? Because the anime made me cry ...IN SCHOOL >_<

This'll be really interesting! ...should I audition? I can look 13!- and, uh, learn Japanese ^_^

I'm quite excited about this. I wonder if they'll actually cast children

There is a huge difference. But it'll be interesting how it turns out... Negima is 10 years old and the girls are 15 years. acording to manga.

I wonder if they will really ask either a 10 or 11 year old kid to act as negi.
