I soo agree...
All the teenage Filipinos in my school are crackers. They've join a clique become one of those "bad boys" hanging with the wrong crowds to fit in. I've met this guy Manny he's one of those "bad boys" his been arrested three times for robbery, possession of illegal drugs, and assasulting his girlfriend. Whenever I hear Manny getting arrested I'm feeling pissed off that his making a negative images to people about Filipino teenagers.

I also migrated recently here in Canada, so far my ways and behavior doesn't change, i think i've become more mature (but a year from now i don't know if i'll be included coz u know it's really hard to adapt, but i'll try my best not to be carried away by people around me, still I'm a Filipino) but my mom's behavior is changing lol. she's trying hard just to fit in. Hmm, i think it's not a problem at all, it depends on the person, it's his/her choice but we can't judge them if they have become like that, it's true that many are trying to fit in, but what can we do? we can't blame them for that, because it's really hard especially they have to deal with so many changes, you're in a period were you enjoy life with your friends and then suddenly you need to move to a place were strangers live...you see? we're alone, even if we say that we have our family in our side teenagers need friends, and they are not doing that just to be popular or whatsoever i think it's just their showoff to look strong, in that way they will not left behind, feel alone...i think you should have a better understanding because person change for a reason, don't just look at the present try to analyze the past, i mean the reason why they are like that, put yourself to another person's shoes and you'll understand it and will try to accept them, but still i believe that in their heart there's a little voice shouting "I AM PROUD TO BE A FILIPINO"

PS~ FACT ito ha: Most of Filipino teenagers residing in countries where English is used oftenly forgets how to speak in Filipino....pero isawalang bahala niyo na lang ito. So un lang... That's my say. Although, I kinda agree with most of your comments, people.

The thing is we do hav different things in our life kahit pa sabihing pareho lng na tao at parehong filipino.

magkakaiba lng talaga kaya magkakaiba din ang pananaw, kaya mabibigla na lang kung may pagbabago, nasa atin na din un kung maapektuhan or magpapaepekto ( i know i'm talkin rubbish LMAO)

blahh,, as always, discrimination, racism, etc. what do you expect? so you must go stereotyping(go where you belong) to avoid being treated like following. so guys, don't judge. if you have a friend, especially a "balikbayan", it's obvious that they will act weird because of the experience and environment that they've been through and believe me, it's not what you think it is(ex: being the only ASIAN in school). you must have the guts just to stare forward in front of many WHITE people and hear words like "DIE CHINESE COMMUNIST!(mistaken for having kinky eyes), or "ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT!"( famous racial slur for the mexicans because some are crossing the U.S. border illegally) because filipinos have the same skin features as mexicans. well, im just telling you that life on abroad(as an immigrant) sucks especially if your a teenager. so i guess some pinoys here just want to work, invest on the philippines, retire, then FLY back home.

ps: I miss ILIGAN

well i can blend cos like i look white but thats true though even for other mixed race folks. chinese-americans, koreans, etc.
its not easy being stereotyped esp when they call you f*ked up names like chink, mexicans of asia, etc.
i kind of am offended with the dude who started this thread. its basically stereotyping. support your kind no matter what mate.
being a fellow dude with filipino blood, it kinda sucks to see a lot of thread in CR about the phillippines and all you find are whines and articles bashing the philippines,
ex. twitter thing, the urbandictionary definition

EXACTLY, you just recently migrated, therefore, you still have not adopted to your environment. Give it about 5 years and up and you'll start to ADOPT (which is the proper term).

actually ADAPT is the proper term.

hahaha ewwwww may tae/ebaks
one of the thing i hated when my cousins from manila used to say this, back when they were visiting my house in Baguio City
But now that i live in Toronto, I did change, but I blended in the crowed as what i am
I have bunch of Pinoy/white/black/mexican/chinese friends,I party in Pilipino Bar, I eat in Pilipino restaurant, But no Jollibee
my way of thinking is probably the same since my lifestyle here is like what i have before back in Phil but in a better way...
comparing to my Barkadas or peers now and back then. I like it better here in the sense of "the right path/way"
B'coz back in Phil my life was a mess, my peers had either been in jail or killed someone.
thats why I used to be darker inside, like i have my own walls
hehe now I accept that "ewww may tae" is just an emotional expression of most people encountering shits on the road(lalo na sa sapatos)
well i use to be hard back then thats why I hated those maarte people around me and i consider people who says "ewww" as one (well i only heard that expression from pinoys never heard it from my other friends or probably because there are no land mines here)

adapting??..well yeah... but there is always a choice on which way you adapt...well as for me I can always go back to how i was before but i guess not all teens can do that..( like awaken my bad side its time to party with bad people )
all I can say to those teens who migrated to other country.. change the Pinoy ways or should I say improve it and dont forget about it bcoz thats part of your life, your only borrowing/ adapting other culture. it will help you in some way like It will be easier for you to socialize to new pinoys in your place. as for the BACAN(BACON) in the house lol doesthat sound right BATANG CANADIAN learn the language at home ask your parents and your friends i hate it when a Bacan denies that he/she is not a Filipino just because of the language .

changing your ways and behavior just to fit in won't make you less filipino.
Everyone should face the reality , RACISM is everywhere .

Wala nagbago sa akin, pake ko kung hindi ako ma fit in sa mga Canadian people here, hay naku. Hindi ako nagiging racist ha.
Meron akong kaibigan dito, well ex-friend I guess. She has changed because she's trying to fit in and such.
XD Sorry, I can't explain it properly...

We moved here almost 14 years ago na. Kahit na anong kaguluhan at kahihiyan ang inaabot ng Pilipinas, im a FILIPINO and im proud to be one.
