Every Final Fantasy up to X. Not really sure what happened after X-2, but things seriously went downhill.

I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but my favorite is FF XII. It's still one of my favorite games to date. The huge open landscapes, all the monsters and hidden special enemies around. The crafting, the Chocobos... I just loved everything about it. For whatever reason, I've only liked turn based in Fire Emblem, Pokemon, and FF Tactics. I like real time better much like FF XII and Ni no Kuni (one of the best JRPGs to come out in a looooong time!).

So... Yeh. FF XII for me!

VII and X I'd say are my favorites. I did manage to burn a LOT of time with Tactics A2 as well though

Final Fantasy VI

Excellent cast of character, mostly all with great backstories, lots of content, stellar plot and character development, some of the best music ever created... love nearly everything about it.

Final Fantasy 19, with 7-9 being very close 2nds. They should've never made the sequel though, that was a sad FF game.

Ah... that's impossible for me to answer. Closest answer I can give is either IV or X. For some reason I just get immersed in those two the most when I play them. VIII is what got me into the series though.

Final Fantasy VI. Great cast, well fleshed out story and an interesting world to explore.

I enjoyed most of the games leading up to FFX but after this, the games just seemed to lose something. I put about 20 hours into XII and gave up. I played through all of XIII and actually had to force myself through much of the first 25 hours to keep playing. Didn't bother with XIII-2.

7, but since everyone says that, let me just say that my second favorite is the remake of 3 for the DS/PSP/iOS. The FFV style job changing was great along with the fun airships and surprisingly good storyline.

XIII>X>VI are my top three. I certainly haven't played them all (most significantly, I missed out on the entire PSX era), but I tend to enjoy the ones I play.

I'm really saddened by all the hate for XIII. I understand that people were unsatisfied with the lack of freedom it offered, but to me, that's never been even close to a high priority in my gaming experience. Player choice will always destabilize the story of an RPG, and I'd much rather have a dramatic masterpiece like FFXIII where I have no control than a bunch of semi-random, statically-presented snippets that I can explore on my own a la the Elder Scrolls series.
