Same with music... They usually only have one or two songs that different artists sing over and over Dx

In my opinion, natural Vietnamese Americans are more prettier than NATURAL Koreans

The viet music isn't very mordern or upbeat. Not a lot of acting either. We don't really have any celebrities worth knowing. I mean the people on Asia and Paris by Night aren't really that famous unless your viet. No one else knows them.

In my opinion, Vietnam never had drama's or movies like nowadays.

They r getting better but still need alot of improvements to compete with Taiwan, Japan, Korea & Thailand.

For their music, it kinda suck. But if u guys & myself included try 2 find more info about their drama's, food, music, etc.
You'll see that their r good stuff.

I think they shud train some of the models to the acting/ music industry.
The pic's up there r really wat i think cud change the whole
evolution of Vietnam entertainment.

I think Korean are naturally cuter than Vietnamese people. I can't wait for the uprise of Vietnamese entertainment, because all of the companies like TVB and Taiseng have some of the best movies. Where are all the gorgeous Vietnamese actresses and super talented actors?

Korean are naturally cuter then Viet people? That's not true. Just because you don't see any pictures of them doesn't mean there isn't any. And on what bases do you think Koreans are cuter? because of the tiny eyes? LOL You must be Korean

none of them have their own sense of style. The only thing theyr good at is copying others foreign celebrities.
Thats the reason most of them look not very nice n weird

That's pretty sad that you guys are saying that Viets are ugly because you're seeing one side of the story.
When I watch BIG BANG and WonderGirls perform, I'm only seeing one side of Korea.
If you watch Utada Hikaru and Ayumi Hamasaki perform and watching anime, you're seeing one side of Japan.

The fact is that American-born 'viet kieus' like myself only get to see one side of every country and adapt to what's around me.
My parents watch Paris by Night, Vietnamese dramas about the poor farmers in Vietnam, listen to cai luong, eat pho.
Before, I used to do the same exact thing as them because they're teaching me what being Vietnamese is actually like.
When was the last time they saw their native home? 20-30 years ago? Doesn't time bring about industrialism and change?
When a Caucasian person thinks of Vietnam, they think Vietnam war and poor Asian people.
Vietnam war-> Poor Asian people But no one ever thinks of this.... Decades after Vietnam War->?????
WHY? Because you're adapted to what's in your grasp. If you live in Southern California and live in Orange County, you still haven't met a real Vietnamese person yet.

Here's just a sample of my journey:
I was a J-pop addict. Why? I watched animes and played Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy. I fell in love with Utada Hikaru, Ayumi Hamasaki, Aya Hirano, etc. My favorite animes were Card Captor Sakura, Sailor Moon, and Naruto. I decided to start learning Japanese in high school. My Japanese was still rusty, but I still tried out my Japanese online and came onto a Japanese website called Nico Nico Douga. Apparently, the website was Japan's most popular entrainment server, and I didn't know even some of the stuff on there. I searched up Naruto, 3 results came up. After discussing it with a penpal, they told me that all that stuff's old. She told me that things move along fast. Everyone's looking for the next big thing, especially different things. Knowing that now, I understand so much about what Japan is acutally like that make some otakus embarrassed when they talk to me. I did my research to learn about the more modern Japan that I hadn't seen in the beginning.
Even though I still love J-pop and J-rock, I'm out of that stage.

The moral of the story?
You have to journey in-depth to actually know something. That's exactly what I did with Japanese media.
Korean fans? Do you REALLY know what a REAL EVERYDAY Korean looks like enough to say that they're always beautiful?
I'm not hesitant to say that they're not because I've been to Korea.
Sure, there are some swans, but there are still ugly ducklings.
KARA, T-ARA, and SNSD do not count as everyday Korean beauties.
When you have money, almost anything is possible, even the rearrangement of a face.

Japanese fans? No, they don't watch animes, eat sushi, cosplay, and dress funky everyday.
If you think all Japanese are beautiful, let me just tell you want foreigners don't usually know:
Japanese have small jaws that crowd their teeth and form "yaeba" (look it up).
They believe that they have heads bigger than their body.
They wear leggings, stockings, tights, and high-socks because their legs are somewhat deformed from being so short.
I'm not saying that includes all Japanese people, but it does include many.
There's no possible way that you can tell me that all Japanese people are gorgeous unless you took 100 pictures in Japan with them because if you got the picture off the internet, I wouldn't believe you.
Most Japanese people cover their faces when posting pictures on the internet unless they're celebrities which is very common.

The problem is that viet kieus only stick with the stuff that's in their grasp. *sigh*
there's something we have to fix because it's sad to know that there are Caucasians that know more about your country than you do.
Vietnam's not a desolate wasteland anymore.

@that Singaporean guy that posted:
oh gosh, why is it always the Singaporeans and Indonesians that pick on the Vietnamese (ノ_-。)
As if they had anything more interesting......

I think because the entertainment industry in Vietnam have to watch out what they doing. like there is a restriction by the communist government! Vietnam society right now is crap. song writer and composer write songs for living, not from their heart! movie directors direct movies for living, not creative to direct from their heart! everything review by the communist before it can be publish. No communist in vietnam = Freedom of speech! voilà

have you watch this? this movie is good

We've all praised and seen people praise Japanese, Chinese, Koreans, etc.
However, I've never seen many people praise Viets.
I agree that our people haven't really 'accomplished' or invented anything worth dying for.

But I do know this:
Even though we haven't made HQ dramas like Koreans, anime like the Japanese, or invented anything like the Chinese,
I have to admit that there are many gorgeous Vietnamese girls.

My favorites:
