0"Are we not allowed to drop by?" Alice asked lightly. Ciel make a irritated sound from his throat, Alice ignored it. She opened her mouth she say something else, when she was abruptly interrupted by the Inquisitor. She was a tall, gray haired women with bead-like eyes and a furiously quick temper, she was heartlessly and rarely showed her face. She loved to snoop into Squad 6's missions, giving out punishments when needed.

"Madeline," Alice greeted with a poisonous smile. The Inquisitor push pass Celeste and Julian as if she were stronger and more important, she stood in the middle of the group her eyes on Alice. "Ahh isn't it Alicandra Elizabeth Farwick, how awful it is to have to see you so early in the morning." Her voice was a venomous as a snakes, "like wise Madeline." Ciel tense beside Alice from the look in his eyes, she knew he was ready to rip her throat out. Madeline turned to face Celeste and Julian, "Celeste Cyric and her toy Julian" she said it as if it were poison on her tongue, Alice wanted to rip her gray hair from her head.

As the Inquisitor stepped in, Celeste felt both Weapons tense. She remained still, not affected by her arrival. Who did the woman think she was, insulting a DUCHESS like that. She was going to get beat to death one of these days. And she wouldn't be all that surprised if that was today, right now.

"Celeste Cyric and her toy Julian" she said it as if it were poison on her tongue.

Julian froze and disgust slowly filled his face. She patted his arm in reassurance, but he didn't ease up a bit.

Celeste slowly looked up at the Inquisitor and gave her a horrifying evil smile while saying, "My, my, if it isn't Inquisitor Madeline. Still looking as hideous and ugly as ever, aren't you? You old hag."

Julian gave her an incredulous look, while Celeste still smiled her horrible smile at the Inquistor.

My, my, if it isn't Inquisitor Madeline. Still looking as hideous and ugly as ever, aren't you? You old hag." Celeste said, Alice grinned.

"Shut up, you insolence brat." The Inquisitor raised her hand ready to slap Celeste, Alice moved she hadn't a clue why, Celeste looked capable of helping herself but there she was, her fingers clutched on Madeline's old wrinkly skin.
"Don't tell me you came out of your rock to insult us did you?" Alice asked. Madeline pulled her hand back. "No one has that much free time, brat." She sneered at Alice. The Duchess was almost untouchable, she hailed from a noble family while Madeline Fairchild did not, Alice hadn't had a clue why the Director chose her as the Inquistor, maybe it was one of his humorless jokes. But Alice didn't care, she hoped someday, the women would parish in the depths of Nightworld.

"The Director wishes to see you four." Madeline said simply, before she disappeared.

As soon as the Inquisitor disappeared, Julian looked at Celeste and practically shouted, "Why'd you do that?! You could have gotten into huge trouble! Maybe even punished! And did you see that?! She was about to hit yo--"

And before he could finish, there stood Celeste. Laughing. Julian's jaw almost dropped to the floor. How long had it been since he heard her laugh? More like, had he even heard her laugh before? And here she stood, clutching her stomach with a big smile, while laughing hard. It sounded like music to Julian's ears. It was a light pretty laugh, almost like soft twinkling bells.

"Ahaha... Sorry, sorry.... Just had to do that," she finally replied after controlling herself.

She took a deep breath, and her expressionless mask returned to place. "Shall we head to the Directors?" and without waiting for a reply, she started walking off.

"Is it sane to burst out laughing, spontaneously?" Alice asked to no one in particular, half stunned but mostly amused at Celeste. "No, I'm pretty sure that's what most insane people do,"Ciel said, in a cool voice. Alice shrugged, and headed off with Celeste, quickly yet silently they crept through the hallway, and up the Director's chamber, Alice knocked on the door, before opening. Director Raziel sat quietly staring at them - he was expecting them, his face showed no glimpse of emotion, behind him Araezal stirred uncomfortably.

"Director." Alice mumbled, she bowed, and raised her head. Ciel did the same. "You were called for us?"

"I think that butler over there is implying you're insane," Julian said while poking Celeste. She shrugged and replied, "Hmm... who knows. Maybe I am insane." Julian just rolled his eyes and said, "Yeah, maybe you are."

As they entered the room, both Celeste and Julian bowed respectively like the others. At that moment, a shot of pain worse then before, hit her neck. It took all her will to control herself. She slowly raised her arm and rubbed her neck, with the scarf between her hand and neck. The movement shouldn't cause any suspicion. Just a person rubbing their neck. No big deal there... She rubbed it rhythmically as the Director started talking.

"I called you all here because of a very important matter." Director began, "Souls throughout the their city have been devoured, so have demons, and many of the demons are growing stronger, having more power, many of them seem to be building an army. As if they are possessed. But once the leaders are confronted they destroy themselves. We need to find out why that is, and we need to know now. The first cooperation mission of Squad 2 & 6, I expect you two." He eyed the two Administrator, "To lead this, this will be dangerous and you may end up dying, of course you don't have to take the mission, but if you wish to do so, you will leave here tomorrow at Dawn."

Alice cringed, thinking of the demon at Hellebourne, he was deadly, more so then any demon she had ever faced. But as the Duchess of Farwick, she couldn't not go. She was loyal to the Guardians, as if the Director were her King, she'd willingly sacrifice herself, and everyone knew it. Alice went down on one knee, her one arm across her placed over her chest.

"I, Duchess Alicandra Elizabeth Farwick, is at the disposal of the Guardian, I willingly accept this mission whether it costs my life or not. I refused to stop trying till the last breath I take, this is my oath to you, Director."

"Thank you, Alicandra." Ciel blend down with Alice, had she gone insane? Had she forgotten what happened in Hellebourne, he looked at her sideways, and she looked back loyalty. That was the only thing in her eyes, Ciel smiled, that was his Alice. She'd never give up, she was strong and she could take care of herself.

"I, Ciel Llwellyn, will willingly take upon this mission. Whether it kills me or not, I take my oath as the Duchess's weapon to protect her and complete this mission, I will not fail." And he wasn't lying. Never in his life had he sounded so sure of himself, this made Alice looked up, her eyes wide, but proud she smiled softly, thanking him mentally.

The Director's eyes fell on Celeste and Julian.

Celeste watched as the two accepted the mission. She didn't know what to do. If it was a few days ago, she would have taken the mission without a second thought. But not now. She needed time. But there was no time. What was she going to do? She watched as the Director's eyes fell on her and Julian.

She slowly knelt down on one knee, Julian following, and said, "I, Celeste Cyric, accept the mission. If it is a task given by the Director, I shall absolutely fulfill it, no matter what the cost."

"I, Julian Ashforth, accept the mission, with my loyalty to Celeste as her Weapon and comrade." Julian said, head bowed.

Celeste clenched her teeth. Had she made the right decision?

Michiyo thought about the Guardians suddenly and for some reason,a feeling passed through her but she could not identify it.She stopped walking and looked at the night sky.It was really quiet."Almost as if like death has befallen everyone...." She murmured quietly.
Michiyo started to fly again. She landed on a cliff nearby and started to form icicles. She turned round and round forming an ice wall. She sat down and started to read her book."A cherry blossom that falls on a cliff......turns.......dark...."Michiyo read to herself her voice getting softer and softer until it could no longer be heard.

As soon as the Director dismissed them, Celeste went flying out the door walking quickly. She had a plan that would make her worries about the pain disappear. Julian easly matched his steps to her pace. "Since when did the mark start to grow," he asked in a monotone. Her eyes flew to the scarf. It had loosened enough to leave the mark in plain sight. She gave a small sigh and said, "Yesterday."

He gave a groan and said, "Well that explains a lot of things. When will it reach the back of your hand?"

"Hmm... In an hour. I'm going to get rid of the restriction spell." she replied.

Julian's eyes widened, and as he was about to say something Celeste interrupted him, "I'm not being reckless. If that mark grows in the middle of a battle, the pain will leave me at a disadvantage. This mission is important enough for him to send two Administrators. Being at a disadvantage is not an option." Julian remained silent knowing what she said was true.

When they reached her room, she went straight towards the bed and sat down. She concentrated for a while and for just a second, you could see the air around her glimmer. The spell was gone. Then pain, worse than before hit her all at once. She curled up into a ball, knees to her chest, and her arms hugging her knees. It was overwhelming, and small whimpers escaped her clenched teeth. Julian leaned against the wall looking at her with a pained expression. She'd have to bear with it. It was only for an hour.

-----

Celeste slowly got up from her bed. The pain was gradually leaving her body, leaving a numb feeling. She felt exhausted. Julian was still against the wall, but now he was looking at the floor. He couldn't stand watching her in pain without being able to do anything. When he looked up he gave a small gasp and said, "Whoa. You look.... different." Celeste just rolled her eyes. She headed towards the bathroom where the biggest mirror was. She let out a small gasp as she looked at her reflection. The mark that was once on the right side of her neck had spread to the edge of her face, decorating her upper right cheek, around her right eye- leaving small swirls on her eyelid, and the right side of her forehead. It had also spread down, swirling around her right shoulder and decorating her whole right arm with swirls and floral looking patterns. Then they all gathered around her wrist, almost like a bracelet and ended with 5 small flowers on the back of her hand. The huge black mark, almost looking like a decoratiave tattoo, looked like a beautiful painting on the pale white canvas of her skin. Her bangs pretty much covered her marked forhead, but the rest of her decorated face, neck, shoulder, and arm were in plain sight.

"Hmm, I like the new look," she said, "It'll be a pain to cover it, so I'll just let everybody see." Julian stepped in looking skeptical. "What are you going to say when they ask about the mark?" he asked. "A new style of body art," she replied with a ghost of a smile lingering on her pained face.

Alice watched as Celeste and Julian darted from the hallways, she stared off at them with cool eyes. She was more concentrated on the mission at hand, the last thing she wasn't was to loose another in battle, she had lost so much already because of her recklessness. Her fingers clenched as she thought of the previous battle.

"It's okay." Ciel said as if he could read her mind, his fingers wounded into her unclenched hand. "I'll be there, to protect you and the ones you love." He gave her a daring smile, before letting go of her hand. "What are your orders, Alice." He said.

"Weapons." Alice was not longer the pampered Duchess, she was a warrior, defender, protector, she wore the weight of the world on her shoulders, and she did not complain. She was a Guardian.

_________

The weapon room never held any major weapons, because most guardian's have already called their weapon, but there were minor weapons to choose from just in case. The room was a locked room, that only administrators and higher ranks were allowed in, blocking the door was a seven foot talk giant, that was ready to rip anyone's head off, but he grinned widely at Alice and Ciel as they passed by. The room was made of steel, the walls were steel and the floor was steel, it was made to be a perfect square, on the walls there were witchblades, a short knife-daggers, there was also fine string sharp enough to cut flesh, wrapped up in little boxes. Alice walked in and grade six witchblades, two daggers, a silver whip made of the sharp string, and fairystones. "Let's go," she urged as they pass back through the door, down the hall, up the stairs, they arrived in front of her room. It was as the left it, Alice pulled out two suitcases she threw on at Ciel and took one for herself, the rest of the conversation died as they packed clothes for the long journey.

Celeste was digging through her closet, throwing in jeans and t-shirts into a plain blue duffle bag. Julian too, was packing things into a black backpack from the same closet. They shared the huge closet, but most of the clothes were Celeste's. She wanted to pack comfortable clothes that would be easy to fight in, but she put in a simple, but elegant one piece in case they needed to gather information somewhere formal. She could tell Julian was glancing at her time to time as they packed. It was starting to get annoying.

"What?" she said looking at him.

"Nothing... Just... Your right side... is different," he finished quietly.

She just rolled her eyes and went back to packing. "By the way, what about weapons?" Julian asked after a while. Celeste waved that off with her hand. "I have you, and I always keep some extra stuff hidden here and there," she replied. And it was true. She always carried extra daggers, knifes, wires, and some other stuff... After packing, they went to bed. They needed to be well rested for tomorrow.

-----

The next morning, both of them were up before dawn. She chose a pair of tight, dark blue skinny jeans- that almost looked black, and a gray tanktop. She then slipped on a pair of silver ballet flats. You could easily see the mark under the thin strap of the tank top and her bare arms. The same going for her face. She quickly tied her hair up, so her waist length hair now reached the middle of her back. When she finished, Julian was already done too. He was wearing a normal pair of jeans and a t-shirt as usual. She grabbed her duffle bag and hung it over her left shoulder. Julian too, grabbed his backpack and wore it. After they made sure everything was ready, they left for the gates.

Morning had come sooner then hoped, Alice's stomach flipped repeatedly, she dressed in battle gear, skin tight black jeans, a sliver belt hung diagonally on her waist, in it was a dagger and fairystone, she wore pencil heel boots, and around her thigh was a sheath that held two witch blades. She wore a black tank top and around her arm was a demon track, that was a wire design, that laid against her upper arm like a design, her long blond hair was pulled into a tight ponytail. There was no talking before Ciel and her, she was much to anxious to hold a conversation anyways, he had both suitcases in him hands, and he was dressed in his usual attire, black dress pants, white gloves and his jacket, he looked more like a butler then a weapon, but it comforted her. Their steps were quick and soundless as they reached the front gate where Celeste, Julian and the Director were. Alice's stomach tighten but her face lost it's expression.

Celeste kept her face emotionless as usual as she waited for the Duchess and her Weapon to arrive. When she and Julian had first approached the gate, the Director glanced at her marked body for less than a second, but there was no surprised reaction or emotion as usual.

When the two did arrive, she saw they were dressed for battle. Celeste never felt any need to dress up when fighting. As long as it was good to move in, she was okay. She absentmindedly twirled a piece of loose hair as the Director gave a last minute word to them.

As Alice arrived she couldn't help but look at Celeste's marking, it was something she had never seen, yet it was so pretty. She couldn't hardly describe what Celeste was not, she was pretty before, but now she was .. gorgeous. It was something to be proud of, she thought, something that made her different, Alice was also the girl who hated blending in, she like to pop, she'd rather be ridiculed then not seen. But all she did was smile, as she listened to the Director.

"You will be headed to Crystalley, where most of the demonic action seem to. On the coast of the city, is a Villa- it belongs to my family, but aren't there at the moment, feel free to use it as you wish. There is going to be a gathering in Viscount Seistel's mansion a fairy knight, who seems to know more then he's willing to tell us about the demonic attacks, the mission is to get him alone tonight and away from his guards, and get all the information you can, but don't blow your cover. If you have to, make him drunk. From there he'll give you all the information you need, here are the invitations and information on the Viscount, you can work of your covers later. Understand?" The Director asked, he looked at Alice and Celeste. Alice nodded and took the four little white envelopes, which seemed to be a lot heavier then normal paper would, and she also took the file in his other hand, she had hardly wish to do to a party with demons, a viscount at that. But she had wish much less to go to Crystalley, it was where the demon royalty lived and where the poor lurk, really to spin, it was a dangerous get luxurious city. It was also right beside Hellebourne. Alice shivered.
