After hearing the Director's news, she was glad she had packed the one piece dress. But Crystalley? She despised that place. She had been there on a mission once, and she hated it. Not for a particular reason though. The aura around that place was just nasty. Like something was wrong, but the whole place was putting on a show of perfection. And a party with demons? Not such a fond idea either. She then noticed the carriage. There weren't two, but one. Meaning the four of them would have to share a carriage. During the LONG ride to Crystalley. Surprise, surprise.

Ciel packed away the luggage as the Director dismiss himself, he wasn't fond of the whole idea of a demon party, but he'd follow Alice to the end of the world if was asked. From the corner of his eye, he saw Alice walk towards him, but her graceful steps were almost like a dance, she looked stronger then she normally did, she normally looked like a fragile angel, dressed in dressed with big curls in her hand, but she wasn't wearing the dress or the curls, she look much older then a normal sixteen year old. "Ready?" She asked, her head tilted to one side, like it always did when she asked a question, Ciel wasn't sure if she knew she had this trait, she probably didn't. He'd keep it to himself, he nodded and let Alice pull him towards the carriage, as like any other carriage they rode on this one had two benches, but it was much wider, there was enough distance between the benches for their knees not to touch. Alice took on side of the bench, and Ciel sat across from her, she looked out the door waiting for Celeste and Julian to hurry in, she fingers held the edge of the pull out table that was folded into the wall. "Anxious?" Ciel asked amused, Alice looked at him with her blank eyes."Never." She said simply.

Celeste sat down next to Alice, leaving plenty of room between them. Julian also did the same with Ciel. She remained silent as the carriage started to pull away from the gate. She absentmindedly began to trace the designs on her arm, snapping out of it when Julian lightly kicked her. She just gave him a look and started all over again, but at a different place. He kicked her again. She didn't stop her tracing, but this time she kicked him back. Hard. And he stopped. She gave a small smile.

Alice pulled the table out, it locked on to the door on the opposite side. And she laid the information out. Four envelops, one file. "The file states that he's only seventeen, earned his nobility from his parents - who are Archdukes/duchess. He's still young which means he's an easy target, Director thinks he's in the middle of it all especially since his family is one of the highest ranking families in Crystalley, only that kind of nobility could get you connection to the dark side. He has silvery blond hair down pass his shoulders and unmissable purple eyes. I say we" she looked at Celeste, "get the information out of him- it's always better to go with appeal, then with brute force, but just in case, we'll bring weapons. You guys are look outs, we'll strike him when he's drunk and daisy. As for the cover goes, we should pick covers that don't match each other, so suspicion doesn't rise. We'll arrive at different times, you and Ciel" she looked at Julian, "will be flirtatious Earls from Fairhurst it's far away kingdom I doubt anyone will see through your disguise. Flirt and look out for the the viscount, gather information from the females, don't try it on anyone who looks stiff, because they will be the smartest to crack. You will arrive after me and Celeste. I'll arrive first and you will enter ten people down the line from me, trust me these royal gatherings get huge. You will be a distress and lonely vampire princess, if anyone asks about your marks." Alice eyed the black eradicated design on half her face, "say it's for your coming of age, which means your only fifteen well fourteen going on fifteen and as for me, I'll go as the Duchess of Farwick, still people don't realize that Alicandra Elizabeth Farwick and Alice Farwick are the same person, petty petty. Oh and you can't use your real names, they can track you if this mission fails, but your faces will be hidden behind masks- it's a masquerade."

"My, my," Celeste said, "won't this be interesting." She looked over at Julian and added, "This will be quite easy for you, will it not?" Julian grinned and replied, "Of course. Morever a lonely vampire princess, doesn't that match you quite well?" "Perfectly," she said.

"Are we to crack him together? Or shall we each try it individually?" she asked Alice, "I'm guessing there will be quite a crowd, and if we happen to permanently seperate, we'll be at quite a disadvantage if something happens. Although I'm sure everybody here can take care of themeselves."

"We do it together. We make him vulnerable, and what gets a guy more vulnerable then two girls fighting for the same purpose?" A deep smile grew on Alice's pink lips, "we'll meet during the party and we'll crack him together, it's the fastest way. WE will be at a disadvantage for the time we aren't together but as you said we can all take care of ourselves." Ciel stiffened.

Celeste just nodded at Alice's answer. She'd obviously have to change her character during the party. She didn't mind though. Her acting was skilled, a talent that an Administrator should have. After all, getting information was always a big part of any mission. "Will any devices be used for communication?" Julian asked, "I think communication between the four of us will be essential. Just in case we find something important on our individual ends." He had a point there. Celeste started to slowly trace the designs on her arm again, while thinking about the mission.

"If something happens, we probably won't be together. Meaning the Guardians are without their Weapons. Of course we'll have extra weapons to hold them off until the Weapons arrive, but seeing how high of a position this Viscount is, our enemies won't be all that easy going either. They may overwhelm us with sheer force...." Celeste trailed off as she murmured this out loud to nobody in particular.

"The Viscount is nothing more then a fairy knight who got lucky. The Duchess is a much higher status, and as well is a Princess, the boy will not think of harming you too, because of your status. Mainly because the demons in Crystalley don't get along to well and if believes you are a vampire Princess, he'll be to frighten to harm you, but of course I agree with Julian we do need communication." Ciel said for the first time.

Alice's hand waved across the table, for diamond earrings appeared upon the table. "Will these do? They are equipped with chips have will pick up the sound wave of the owners voice and transmit it through to the other earrings, of course the frequency is very precise so no one will be able to find it, I figured we might need them sometime around our mission." Alice picked a earring up, and forced it through her cartilage. She winced a little but her face was expressionless. "Was that piereced before?" Ciel asked half alarmed, half amused.

"It is not," she grinned, and passed him a earring. With a sigh, he pierced the earring into his ear lobe. "It looks good on you," Alice said, Ciel wasn't sure if she was sarcastic or being honest. He figured he didn't care, he was never a fan of man jewelery, but demons were known for it, so he mind as well blend in.

She just sighed at Ciel's answer. She didn't think things would turn out so easily like that, but oh well. She grabbed an earing as well and pierced it through her ear. It stung, but she didn't show any reaction to the pain. Julian followed, giving a small wince but that was all.

She stared at him for a while. He had the body and looks of a model, and the earing matched him quite well. At a first glance, he looked so skinny- almost fragile. But when you looked carefully, you could tell he had a strong body build. Many people mistakened him for being weak and picked fights with him during missions, only to find out he was quite the opposite.

Julian noticed she was staring at him and said, "What? Does it look bad?"

"Yeah. It looks horrible," she replied flatly.

"Why thank you," he said with a grin.

Alice couldn't help but admire the relationship Julian & Celeste shared, it was the complete opposite of what she and Ciel was bound to. Butler and Mistress, he never did anything to upset her, it was kinda boring living her life, never actually being close to anyone, and people tried to take advantage of her because they thought she was dumb and stupid. Of course she always thought those people a lesson they regretted. But just once, she wish to be normal, a sixteen year old girl name Alicandra. Instead of the young Duchess she was bound, but of course it was her choice, she could've stay the nobody, daughter of a fallen Guardian and an unconscious Duchess. She couldn't say she regretted taking her father's place, but she couldn't say she enjoyed it, it was something to do, to keep her away from boredom. With a sigh, Alice put her head against the window and stared blankly out of it, letting all the conversation fall.

It seemed like ages before the carriage arrived at Crystalley, as expected for the Director's villa, it was massive. Big and white, with three stories. And countless windows. Around the gate was large stone walls that separated the lad from the Villa, within the gated walls was a completely different vibe then outside. The air inside was fresh, clean and it was sun, as opposite to the poisonous darkness that lurked outside. It was like the Guardian's castle, a long drive took them fro the start of the gate to the front of the Villa and of each side of the road was forestry, pounds, lakes, and lights to light to the way. Once they reached the front of the house, it was a large court and in the middle was a fountain, with streams of water dancing from it. It was a beautiful slight, and a beautiful home. Quickly the got off the tiny carriage and stepped on to the granite court. "Pretty." Alice said, as she walked up the steps Ciel behind with her bags. As predicted the home was empty but the door had a key in it and a white envelope hung from the knob. It said welcome, Alice turned the key and the knob creaked, opening the large iron doors. The inside was as festive as the outside, marble floors, elegant wallpaper, and iron spiral stairs. The kitchen was modern, was massive, it looked like it was designed from a magazine from the human world. The dinning room was as expected to be, a large table sat in the middle of four walls, with 16 seats surrounding it, in the corner was a massive white grand piano, and a portrait of the Director and a beautiful women was posted on the wall. "So the old man did have a wife." Alice said amused. She spent little time walking the hallways, instead she headed up the stars, were rows of doors were all closed but unlocked, she picked a room at random and it looked to be designed just for her, fit for a Duchess. It had a massive bed, mad of iron, the mattress was covered in silk, there was a large amour, a vanity table, a beach view a fire place, and a large washroom. It looked identical to her room in the Castle, she didn't know if she was to be amused or disturbed.

Celeste took in the scenery of the villa with delight, although her face remained emotionless. The inside of the villa was as beautiful as the outside, and she already loved the place. Like the Duchess, she quickly went to pick her room. She chose a room two doors down from Alice's. When she opened the door, she fell in love with it immediately. It wasn't a huge room, but was plenty big enough. Fairy stones were on each wall, just like her bedroom. But the wall opposite the door had a huge window, that gave her a perfect view of the beautiful scenery. Against the same wall was her bed, covered in cotton blankets and quilts, with plenty of cushions. Another wall had a small vanity table with a large dresser placed next to it. The last remaining wall had a small fireplace with a rug in front, and two comfortable armchairs around it. This was another thing similar to her room. Maybe the similarities were what made her fall for the room so easily. She just dumped her duffle bag on the floor, walked out the door, and headed down the stairs. On the last step, she just took a seat sticking close to the left, giving enough room for people to walk through if they needed too. Celeste just stared blankly into nowhere and started to think.

It was only noon when the arrived, giving them plenty of time to get ready for the mission at nine. Alice figured she mind as well eat and enjoy herself, maybe for the last time. No matter how confident she sounded, she wasn't really, she was afraid and anxious just like any normal person would be. She fled down the stairs, Ciel behind her, she saw Celeste sitting blankly, she decided to let the girl have her peace, instead she went for the kitchen and ordered Ciel to make a fest. As he idled in the kitchen mixing spices she went to the dinning room and sat down at the piano. Long ago, during easier times she loved to play the piano. It was simple, octaves and notes. She used to let the music carry her, now she let the music do the same, it started as a low hum then turned into an anthem, it was dark but meaningful, the sound carried through the mansion like the air. It told her story to the world, it was wordless, but at the same time clear.

As Alice and Ciel came down the stairs, Celeste paid no attention to them. She was busy thinking up all the possible outcomes for today's mission. She had come up with more negative ones than positive ones, but she had the feeling that the four of them could pull it off. Her thoughts were then interrupted by the sound of a piano. She stood up and headed towards the dining room, her footsteps matching the rhythm- almost like she was dancing. With light footsteps she entered the dining room and sat on a chair. She leaned her back against the chair and closed her eyes. She started humming softly to match the tune of the song that was being played. For the first time in years she felt so relaxed.
Posted 8/7/09
Alice's eyes were closed, as she listened to the music, the song was unfamiliar, but she played it like it was. It was a nice tune, devastation, depression and revolution. It was a calm whining sound, it was sad yet made you feel better. Her head swayed with the music, she couldn't help it.

"Lunch is ready." Ciel's familiar voice called, Alice didn't stop playing instead she brought the music to a eerie ending, returning to a low hum and ending on a f flat. When she opened her eyes she wasn't surprise to see the person who had drifted into the dining room was Celeste, the tension in her shoulders were gone, and her alertness had almost vanish, she was relaxed.

"Did you like it?" Alice asked, as she found a spot in a chair, ready to be served food.

"Did you like it?" Alice asked.

Celeste just nodded her head, keeping quiet. Julian then walked into the room carrying food for him and Celeste. He set down a plate of small sandwiches in front of her, cut neatly into tiny cubes, a toothpick sticking out of each one. Also placing down a glass of ice water. His plate just contained one big sandwich. She looked at the food with no interest. She picked up a toothpick and nibbled into the small cube. It tasted delicious, but she didn't really want to eat it. Julian gave her a stern look and said, "You need to finish all of that. You'll need plenty of energy for tonight." She just sighed and finished the small cube of a sandwich, picking up another one. She sat there staring at it as Julian began to eat his meal.
