For tomboys: What do you wear for proms? And is it weird to wear jeans for prom?

Not a tux, but a nice suit. I would show you pictures but I can't seem to get into my facebook account at the moment. A classmate of mine wore a suit, and she looked awesome in it. Elegant and feminine enough for a prom.

I'm also a bit tomboy,but at my prom i was dressed in a nice,midle lenght white dress with some red floral prints.

I haven't seen many girls go to a prom in a tuxedo, either. I'd prefer to go in a tuxedo though ;D If not, I'd wear a decent and simple dress, and with flats or a pair of Converse, haha.[:

Offline	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 8/4/09 Hhmmm... our principal's considering on making a Grade 9 graduation dance (NU!!!!~... cries in agony...) ... my friends and I aren't exactly "tomboys" or whatever but only two to three of us (out of 7 girls and 9 guys) are planning to wear dresses... the rest of us are plotting either purple suits or bombarding the party in Joker outfits (from Dark Knight, with the make-up, of course) with fake guns... xDDDD... gonna be interesting... ...

Proms and dances are all about dressing up, and that usually dictates dresses for girls and suits or tuxes for the guys. It's a part of simple dress code. Now, I'm a tomboy, but if you choose a plain but classic dress with a pair of dressy flats, you can get away without the girly-girl look. Keep it classic. But jeans? Just no.

I think most girls including tomboys (at least to my knowledge) go to prom wearing a dress. If you're that shy, you can wear some leggings underneath. But it mostly depends on you.
