I was/am the worst tomboy ever....and even I know to wear a dress on a (special) formal occasion. Wear a dress. If you really hate it, think of it as a costume (like Halloween) . I did, and it wasn't so bad to wear with that mindset. I dare say it was actually a bit of fun. Get some help though, some of us tomboys have trouble knowing how to get girly and dolled up. You don't want to accidentally make yourself look like a clown or ho.

Well for starters it's a formal occasion so at-least wear something very formal. Wearing jeans to prom is just a big NO-NO. It's the only time to go all out and dress up like you're royalty. If you're not going to wear or you despise the thought of just wearing a dress and high heels, then at-least go for a tuxedo look. You'll look very nice and you wouldn't be out of place.

Wear a dress. It doesn't have to be too froo-froo but it is your prom and most people only get one. You can still let your tomboy side out by wearing chucks or something with the dress. There aren't that many times in life when you have to or get to dress up like you do for prom so have fun with it.

I didn't go to prom, but I don't think jeans are acceptable. It is a formal occasion. If I did go to prom, I'd go in a tux. With a top hat, monocle, cane, and spats. If you have to wear a dress, just something simple and classy. It doesn't have to be frilly and pink.
Or you know, don't go to prom. Problem solved and money saved.

Well as a fellow tomboy I have to say I'm dreading my prom this summer (arghh!) I'm just taking the easy way out and not going, its better than getting stressed out and putting prom over my exams
If you were really really worried (like I am) then you can get like playsuits that look like dresses. I don't know whether its wearing a dress that makes you uncomfortable or whether you don't like the designs and the styles - but if you are comfortable then just chose a simple dress - maybe a black one?
I haven't worn a dress/skirt for like 10 years but wearing a tux is both social suicide and implies that you are gay - at least where I come from it is (I would get bullied from heaven till hell if I did that)

lol I never went to my high school prom.
I am going to wedding in a month though and i'll be wearing a dress despite the fact that i've never actually worn a dress before. Should be an interesting experience.

don't wear jeans its the worst idea ever. were what every other girl wears to prom. a dress. and yes wear some high heels too. Get your hair done and paint your nails and wear makeup.

Tomboys. Lol, those were the days. I used to be one. But my more girl instincts kicked in when I started college. So when I went to prom, I wore what every other girl wore. A dress. It was a simple dress with no laces or frills or heart-shaped patterns though. Colour was soft orange, my favourite colour. And I think I wore a pair of wedges instead of heels, because at that time I just can't walk in heels, even if my life depended on it.
Turns out it was pretty fun to be in a dress. And because I rarely doll up, people start asking for me to take pictures with, when in fact I was standing right in front of them. Those were fun times.

Definitely a dress.. Cause in prom, you are not allowed to wear male outfits if you're a girl and the same with the guys, they are also not allowed to wear female outfits.. That's tradition. Except of course, if the theme is different. |
