Just curious.....
My favorite is the PS2 simply because you can still get all these amazing games on it. It's a decent price. Its generally a really good console.

ps3 is boring the only defrence between ps3 and 2 is the online and memory thingy , playstation 2 is so much fun , in my opinion u.u

....I can't believe no-one has mentioned the the Playstation.

The Playstation is like the Grandfather of the Sony console family. Stronger aura. Stronger everything.

But the Playstation 2 has the best games of all 7th generations, is still selling; now surpassing the incredible mark of 125 million hardwares sold. Playstation 2 is not only the best SONY console, but the best console ever.

Wow. Didn't know sales determined how good a console is. That's just like saying a religion is the truth because so many people follow it. And best games? MY ASS. Sure, it had a bigger games library, but of course you're a proportion whore, aren't you?


And it's over 140 million btw.

Just proves my point even more; everything is relative and sales are prove of the huge success that console has, you wonder why it has sold more than 140 million? why is it a video game console for? GAMES, but even more important: EXCLUSIVES. *Something that the PS3 didn't have up 'till 2008, now it just keeps getting better and better (but still I don't think is gonna surpass the PS2). I could list at least a 100 AAA games that came out for the PS2. What else... CONTINUITY: That's what I like about SONY, they don't drop something just because they made a better version of it; they keep supporting their hardware as long as people still buy it (look at Nintendo or Microsoft, they don't even care about the Gamecube anymore, Xbox, even Windows Vista is gonna be forgotten when W7 hits the shelves). DEVELOPMENT TEAMS: And SONY has the best out there, Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch, Guerrilla, Insomniac, Santamonica, Polyphony Digital, etc, etc, etc.

I could go on, I could go on telling you why the PS2 is the best console but I think you don't want to understand.

Yeh, but you don't seem to realise how harder it was for the PS1. Look at it's competition:

Nintendo 64 [after success of SNES]
Sega Saturn [after the success of Genesis / Megadrive]

^Look at all those exclusives those to consoles would have.

^Yet despite the legacy and fanbase of both Nintendo & Sega, despite the Playstation franshice being completely new to the gaming scene [meaning lack of history to even get devs and publishers familiar with it], the Playstaion still managed to overcome both rivals and be the first console to sell past the 100 million mark. Then the Dreamcast [a 7th generation console] came in on the Playstation's tail, yet the Playstation still managed to keep up.

The PS2 came in when everyone was already familiar with the PS1's popularity & success. It was EASIER and more EXPECTED for the PS2 to be the dominant console or the 7th generation. Let's not forget: without the PS1, there would be no PS2. If the PS1 didn't achieve what it has achieved, the PS2 wouldn't even be CLOSE to what it is today. It certainly wouldn't even have what it HAS today. Wouldn't even be percepted in the same way it is. The Playstation is the console that worked it's ass from ground-up and gave innovation for it's successor consoles.

And please... If you're childish enough to make a "your mom" comeback on me then you should have all your insults reflected back on you.
