The movie will steal suck. Dragon ball was not meant to be made into movie. Not to mention the creaters were involved into making the movie so if you complain take with the Japense movie industry not Hollywood. sss. I hated the movie as much as you did. I still have not yet found a good anmie live action movie. Both American and Japenese alike all anmie live action movies suck. Though I did like Transformers.

I don't think the Japanese would most definetly make a better dbz...in a few years cuz
their cg with real life characters aren't that good..
but then again...I think stephen chow could do it
because his works on shaolin soccer and kung fu hustle.

Well, I think most of the problem was that they made the movie with the general American audiences in mind. They wanted to make it accessible to even non-fans and, well, dumbed down the story to do so, add to the fact that Hollywood focuses more on looks than substance these days and you've got a mess when it comes to Dragon Ball. The effects weren't terrible (they could've been better), but I think part of the problem was Fox. I don't think Fox took it seriously and it shows.
Movies in Japan usually don't look as good as American movies, but have better plots. That was part of the problem with Evolution, bad, cliche plot.
Making a DB movie isn't impossible, it's just really difficult and you have to put ALOT of Time, money, and effort into it. I think a DB movie made in Japan might be better than Evolution with alot of effort (might not be as pretty though). Heck Japan would most likely make it with uber-fans in mind.

Anime adapted films can either be a hit or miss. The script would need alot of revisions and time consuming to fathom the plot for american audience to follow along even without having to watch the anime series first in order to understand the story line.

Transformers and GI Joe are good examples.

I doubt it would have been any better, really. Maybe more slapstick but little else.

Pros: Would pretty much stick the anime unlike the American Version, WOULD ACTUALLY HAVE KIRLIN IN IT

Cons: Costume would look gay, some Asian with blonde hair will wear some fake Goku wig, and the effects would look 3rd rate

I say pretty much they would be the same

It would've been more... true to the story I think. I mean at least make Goku ASIAN! I don't have anything against white people, in fact I like them very much. The movie didn't do the original Dragon Ball Z any justice.
