in all honesty yes. most american made movies that are based off anything good tend to not do as well..like books to a movie..it just fails

It still would've sucked...i'm sure the Japanese movie would have had better graphics, maybe have characters closer to what they were originally like in Dragonball, but at the end of the day, you're still taking a massive cartoon series and trying to condense it down into and hour and a half movie. It's gonna suck no matter what.

Exactly my thought. Does not matter which country films it, produces it, edited the movie or distribute the movie...just the adaptation from anime series to big screen does not justify really well.

It still would have sucked. There are some things you can ONLY do with animation. If you were to recite the Dragonball plot to anyone who had never heard of the series, you would realize just how ridiculous it is, and no one would want to see it, regardless of who made it.
The Japanese aren't fucking miracle workers and they can't make a good movie out of a shitty plot anymore than Hollywood would have been able to.

I think the Japanese would have made a better job with the casting and plot. The Americans really failed in that department... The movie was just a WTF experience that I could have lived without...

blame him for the film sucking, not an entire country.
it could've been better, or worse, depending on who in japan directed it
there are lots of good movie and lots of horrible movies in both countries
