As with most other people, because of Halo 3.
Much to my delight I found the wonders of Achievements and Mass Effect afterwards.

I went from my gamboy advanced, to a Ds, to an xbox 360. I like playing video games, and since my friends had xbox. I wanted to play along with them. plus, if you don't watch TV that much, like me, this was a nice escape now and then. Even though, some take it too seriously... ._.

Plus the fact that though you need to pay for online the experience far surpasses that of what PS3 has to offer. Regardless of whether the PS3 has a better design, it's Xbox all the way. I've used both and was happier with the Xbox
