With the US government as it is now, here's where America stands...
*A current 12,000,000,000 debt that obligates our grandchildren into debt by default from birth.
*A president that willfully acts out in war actions without the approval of the congress.
*Non-elected Oligarchical-Bureaucracies that legislate law without any legislative powers whatsoever.
*An imposed income-tax that deprives the right of your property, (your labor) without due-process of law.
*Elected officials, who neglect their oath of office without regard of the consequences of their actions for future generations
*A failed war on drugs that has cost over $500,000,000,000 since the 1970's.
*A directly unconstitutional Private Bank (The Federal Reserve) that issues worthless pieces of paper and calls it money.
*A current Foreign Policy that benefits no-one in times of peace, nor promotes peace.

What is there for we people to do?
I look at the ancient Greek model. With no central government whatsoever, but instead several City-States. Athens, Sikyon, Corinth, Sparta, Thebes, Argos, Delphi, Olympia, Mykenae.
They had no central government but at the same time they were still Greek. So can we assume if America got rid of the current central-federal government would we all still be Americans? I think so.

Does this government really need so many monopoly-powers such as, "To coin money" Surely their are skilled metal artists who can press gold metal into coins, and scribe into them masterworks of designs and figure-portraits.
How much more valuable would those be?

Do States need police officers as we know them today? Wouldn't it be much better if every town contracted private security firms, listed to them things they may and may-not do, then allowed them to patrol the town residence?

What if we returned education from the federal government to towns and local jurisdictions, like it was before? Prior to 1953 America was #1 in Science and Math in the entire world, with Russia in a distant 2nd place. As of 2001 we ranked 26th, and that was only if your children could count that high.

It is proven that local/private can often perform tasks much better the All-imposing central government, and we have proof of this.
Observe the Post Office. Once an exclusive power held by Government, now competes with Federal Express & UPS for the privilege to deliver your mail and packages to it's destination. And even to say at a better quality.

What do you think?

Socialism is only good on paper....Don't fool yourself into thinking it can work.

Really, Even if we were to change governments what makes you think another system wouldn't be as corrupt as the current one? Human nature shows that those with power will abuse that power. Power corrupts everyone, theres no escaping it.

Democratic Socialism anyone?

Is it now the time the fall of America? Look around you. Reality doesnt lie.

it seems no matter which side Democrats or Republicans, they are always on the same page and the Americans has blindly elected a same leader that still further destroy the Constituition. Bush or Obama, no change.

Bring back the Constituition to the nation!

Bring back the troops home! Both Iraq and Afghanistan!

Get out of Mid East!

Stop funding Israel!

With that, everything is going to be ok!

We need to go back to small government and personal responcibility and adhere to the constitution. Apart from the forced 2 years of service, I agree with this video and it explains much. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeYscnFpEyA

As long as we dont get an uncontrolled Republican/Democrat or a third party candidate the cycle will continue. It is funny as Americans we always want change, didnt like Bush but come election time we just vote for the same thing. To see Mccain and Obama hailed showed me that we have a long way and people further need to be educated in order for real change. The longer we continue to hail Fox and CNN as our number 1source for news there will be no change. Those two stations will just hide the corruption in our government and the corrupt nations we support (Israel being our number one funded corrupt nation).

Our politicians will continue to put Israel's interests over ours. As Obama stated so valiantly at APAC, "An enemy of Israel is the enemy of the USA." Could this be the reason why we fight Israels wars aka Iraq maybe Iran in the future? I have always stated the Constitution is just something our politicians pay lip service to they dont follow it thats why the Federal Reserve is around and we are in two wars now. A small percentage of Americans are smart enough to see past the smoke screens of propaganda, character assisinations, etc but the majority isnt. Because if the majority was smart enough like I said Obama and Mccain wouldnt be the two people we would have to choose to elect. If you want change vote for change but dont vote for the same president we just had 8 years and cry about how bad things are going.

It is good to see smart Americans like the OP because as much brainwashing that goes on in this country we can still see the light.

I really really like Ron Paul, but I disagree with him on a few things like how he views the Israeli conflict. I don't know enough about him to give him a complete "seal of approval" by my opinion. I am researching him now and so far he seems like a very good conservative politician.

The ancient Greek model would not be viable today because it is both Ancient and it is Greek.

No offense intended to Greece, but this is a matter of basic geography and, as such, the U.S. is vastly different. Greece is a small country surrounded on many sides by coast. The Greek City-States could be self supported by each claiming ownership of access to these waterways. The U.S. geography land mass is huge in comparison. In your United States model, the few City-States with coastal access would squeeze the life out of the interior land-locked City-States.

Take California as an example. California is a coastal state with many ports, as well as being a primary food producer due to its agreeable climate. If California pulled out of the U.S and created its own government, the remaining coastal states on the west coast would follow suit. It would only stand to reason that they would form a west coast republic, or at least a coastal coalition of City-States that would essentially control all business related to coastal shipping. The repercussions of this would result in interior City-States paying higher prices for just about anything that previously came through the west coast. Imports from Asia would all be subject to an extra tarriff, since the interior City-States would have to pay whatever price set by the coastal City-State(s). Land locked industry dependent on Asian imports would flounder and fail. Their coastal counterparts would thrive.

Does this government really need so many monopoly-powers such as, "To coin money" Surely their are skilled metal artists who can press gold metal into coins, and scribe into them masterworks of designs and figure-portraits.

It would be much less valuable, actually.

Did you know that most physical U.S. currency is held outside the United States? Yep. We have THEIR currency held in the U.S. reserve as well.

Each country's economic power is counted toward/against the global standard of the value of their currency. Once the U.S. spins into a bunch of City-States who are minting their own currency, the former currency is worth zip. All of this "new" currency would have to accumulate in the global economy before it would be worth anything. That would take a while. We, in all our respective City-States might still be calling ourselves "Americans", but the rest of the world would be calling us "third world countries".

Do States need police officers as we know them today? Wouldn't it be much better if every town contracted private security firms, listed to them things they may and may-not do, then allowed them to patrol the town residence?

Privatization makes everything MORE expensive, not less. Private companies controlling public services are going to be interested in profits, not the public. Public options can and do work if they apply good business strategies into their operations. The U.S Postal Service and their flat-rate priority boxes are a good example of a competitive business strategy.

I can't agree with your assessment of the U.S Postal Service. Actually, I've had less trouble shipping with U.S.P.S. than the private options, so that may be why.

I think he might know something that we didnt know about the Israeli conflict. Afterall he is one of the biggest Israeli critic in Congress. Watch him at youtube. Ron Paul is an outstanding politican with great spirit and pride, he is with the American people and the Constituition. He wants to rebuild America, but unfortunately not many American are with him. They choose to listen to Obama and McCain which provide no change in the end. And with Obama approval ratings drop like waterfall, its time that Ron Paul dash in to promote his ideals.

Is this the time for fellow Americans to wake up? With Obama approval rating begins to drop, i think it come to realised that Americans are losing their patience on Obama. Thats the good sign, a sign that people have had enough.

Ron Paul doesn't stand a chance. He has made too many racist comments that have been well publicized in the media. His own rants have doomed him.

The media will never let go of those comments, hence he will always be marginalized.
