Okay, my mac is totally gay, it would be on queer eye if it was any more of a homo, Itunes will not work, at all, I have tried installing it again, wont allow that shit to happen, so I was wondering if anyone here knows of a good program thingy that will allow me to put songs onto my ipod, if so, please tell me, or I might kill someone, myself most likely, wow, thats a long sentence.

It has been a while since I've heard of anyone having trouble with a mac. I use windows and I have itunes. I don't know of any other programs that can be used wiht iPods. I am sorry, but I don't think that ther is anything I can do for you.

Hmm, ya might have to hack it. Depending on wich one it is you might be able to get Linux running on it and maybe get new files onto it.

I'm trying to help too, except I'm more helpful
Just kidding, fine, try to see whats wrong with Itunes, there has to be something thats not allowing it to work properly, or you can just use another player such as Realplayer, Musicmatch Jukebox, or windows media player

EDIT: I dont know if those work on mac

uh id likely just reformat

but yes there are other programs that you can use as an itunes substitute. A quick search revealed some ones that cost $$, but sharepod is freeware so try this: http://www.softpedia.com/get/IPOD-TOOLS/Other-IPOD-tools-Updates/SharePod.shtml

I don't know much about macs or ipods (i have an iAudio X5) but cant you just plug your ipod into your mac and simply transfer the files from your browser? I don't think you need any program to do that. That's what i do with my iAudio. But then again, im on Windows XP and its not an iPod.

you used to be able to put songs on your iPod using a program called Musicmatch Jukebox. i don't know if itstill works. i'm sure you could download it somewhere off the internet and try it.

can't you just drag the file into the ipod drive? Since you do get an extra drive when you hook your ipod to your computer right?

No, iPod's don't work that way (unlike conventional DAP's). It does indeed register as a hard drive, but only for storing data. Music has to be transferred by some iTunes or compatible application or the iPod will not be able to play it. As far as programs are concerned, I don't know of any at the moment for MacOS (it's been years since I used a mac) but i'll give it a look.

edit (to op):
try here: http://www.songbirdnest.com
with iPod extension here: http://www.songbirdnest.com/extensions

edit again:
seems like this is still in the development stages, thus only has a windows download, but a macos build seems to be in the works
sorry
