(The reasons for everything in the ratings are explained in the review section at the end of the article)

* Visuals: So so... Nothing special... Nothing horrific
* Music: Some good stuff
* Plot: Nothing amazing or deep... Kind of typical... But not horrific. It's entertaining.
* Overall rating: 5/10 (watch if you're bored and have the time. Can be entertaining)

* Genre: Martial arts/comedy/romance

* Company: TMS Entertainment

* Format:50 episodes

* Dates: October 7, 2006 – September 29, 2007

* Synopsis: The story focuses on Kenichi Shirahama, an average 16-year-old high school student who has been picked on his whole life. However, after a month into his freshman year, he meets and befriends the mysterious female transfer student, Miu Fūrinji. Driven by his desire to become stronger and to protect those around him, he follows her to Ryōzanpaku, a dojo for those who are truly strong and have mastered their arts gather..

* Review:

Well here's a martial arts anime with a pretty typical plot. Weak boy with good morals who's bullied on starts training in a Dojo to become stronger and protect those around him. What's a bit original is that he starts training because of a girl in his school he meets in the first episode who saves him from some bullies. She's a martial arts master and belongs to a dojo where she takes Kenichi.

The anime itself is pretty average. The plot as I stated above is an average plot which isn't anything special... But atleast it entertains... The visuals are just average, The character development is mediocre except for Kenichi who's developed a little bit as he changes throughtout the anime, some of the episodes can get a bit boring and, while there is romance, I can't say it's the most exciting or pleasing one... But it is present.

Now the parts about this anime that make it atleast halfway descent and not a waste of time to watch. The music is pretty awesome and goes well with the action, which is also good at times with some astonishing fights; and last but definately not least is the humor. It has some funny moments which will make you laugh... sometimes outloud. The action and the humor alone is enough to make watching this anime not a waste of time. But there's also the sweet moral which the 50 episodes bring to us... Work hard and you can accomplish anything... Not a new theory by a long shot, but it's better than cheap, toilet humor animes ^^

So yeah, if you're sitting at home and you don't really have anything extremely awesome to do... Take a seat and watch "Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple." You wont be breath taken... But you'll be entertained and amused.
