Whenever they release their swords, i notce that its usually named after a plant or animal or even setting. for regular zanpaktous, it usually weapon reinforcement, elemental, or a physical change

I don't think they all are. I mean like Ichigo when he turned into a hollow he was a bird. Maybe they name the swords after themselves or something like that? I have no clue  |

i believe they were originally human, died became an animal looking hollows, and then became arrancar.

Well with the espada/arrancar, they've gone through a ton of stages.
Once they reach the adjuchas stage, they tend to be animal forms

i think it's just a representation of how a hollow evolves since the highest level of hollows is in humanoid form.

I think hollows were growing organsims until they reach a full stage and became an outer clan like in a out world. I'd say that's what created Hueco Mundo.
