During a scene in episode 59, the Nizo butler guy told Takasugi that he killed both Gintoki and Katsura... and then something about them being comrades. Takasugi got really angry and told Nizo don't ever call them comrades. Why were Takasugi so angry at that moment? He even try to kill Nizo too. Were Takasugi angry because Nizo killed both Gintoki and Zura? I mean it's just a remark about them being comrades right? If Takasugi really think of Gintoki and Zura as a thread, shouldn't he be glad that G and K wouldn't interfere later on?

Gin and Zura both are against the way Takasugi's actions... So did Takasugi still somewhat like Gin and Zura? Or did he really get angry when being told that they were once "comrades"?

It looked as though Gin and Takasugi were rivals in OVA 2. Maybe he's still rivals him/them but as friends and not as enemies. If they were dead, then Takasugi can't prove his strength against them or get any kicks.

Katsura, Takasugi and Gintoki have a bond. That is not even questionable. They grew up together, had the same master and fought alongside eachother during the Amanto War. They were comrades and even if they didn't like eachother or even hated eachother it was a time when it didn't mater the kind of feeling they had, but how strong and deep the bond was. They covered eachother's backs and protected eachother. Then, the war came to an end and each of them followed his own path: Takasugi became possessed by the hatred of the lost of their master and released his inner beast, wanting nothing more than to destroy everything; and Katsura formed his terrorist-like faction to fight for the human rights and continue to fight against the Amanto opression; while Gintoki became a lazy bum living each day without worries (apparently) and locking his demons in a cage. Katsura tried to convince Gintoki to join the Jouiishishi but then he understood the lifestyle his comrade and friend choose to adopt. Takasugi does not understand the way both of them are living now, and as they did not accept to join him in his path to destruction, he will not hesitate to eliminate them, because they know eachother very well and Takasugi knows that they will be a great obstacle to his goal. He knows this because of their bond, but for his goal he won't hesitate to kill an ex-comrade. Katsura and Gintoki, although having followed diferent paths, they still have the same ideals and did not become possessed by the hunger of vengeange, unlike Takasugi. Therefore, Katsura and Gintoki are still comrades and friends, while their bond with Takasugi is neither of friendship, nor even of comraderie anymore. Though their bond as comrades is in the past, it still lingers, but neither Takasugi nor Katsura and Gintoki will let that be in the way when the time comes that they will have to fight to the death.
