Absolutely amazing. This is the show that first got me addicted to anime, and it remains my favorite even now, to the extent that I bought the whole series on dvd. Even better than the awesome LFO fights, the best part of this series is the characters. Every single character is unique and multi-dimensional. Even most of the villains, with the exception of Dewey, are sympathetic characters. In addition, the raw emotion in every step of Renton's journey kept me coming back for more. So yes, come for the giant robots, stay for the intense characters and deep storytelling.

"they are easily available to the public while at the same time only slightly altering the body when they’re ingested so that the user is not overwhelmed by the experience. In the same light, here in the world of anime and manga, we have series that can be considered “Gateway Anime”; shows that can easily be acquired by the masses and contain stories and animation techniques that show an accurate representation of the genre without drowning a new viewer with an overabundance of anime quirkiness."

As an anime lover for the last 7+ years, I don't find that good at all.

Eureka 7 was a flat rehash of most of Evangelion/FLCL and some Mobile Suit Gundam. The intensity cut, in very flashy and distracting ways, from the point were it was supposed to overwhelm.

The plot meandered into Emo Opera, and the middle section sagged until they threw more mecha at the issues.[too many characters with too little to do]

If that's what brings in more fans it's like saying Twilight made people realize that Interview With A Vampire was a film worthy of their money and attention...but you would be 20 years too late and have missed the point of the lore.

The point of all the best films and media is still to get the masses to think. No other purpose. Anything else is just fluff, or abusive to their dignities/wallets.

Which is why so many companies gobbled up all that they could and then pumped out "AnimePop", they did not get enthusiasts they got fangirls. Who eventually grow up and realize that most of the medium is poison.[see Real Estate Market circa 2007]

There were so many offenders, LoveS, RahXephon, Bleach, One Piece they all took an older masterpiece and reworked it. But they haven't added anything to the genre that can't be forgotten when they get recycled. They just add more glitter.

If you can't handle the experience of Cocaine, then Crack is better? And you won't even bother to read up on why and how Cocaine became an illegal/ritual drug?? The logic is flawed.

The story shows that with love so strong, It can accomplish almost impossible things, Renton's love for Eureka was so strong that, even when they were apart, the sought each other out, Not distance, nor learning of her past, nor finding out she's not human, nor seeing her with wings changed Renton's love for her, and even the prospect of her becoming the Command Cluster, deteered him from rescuing her.

He encouraged, her comforted her, felt her pain with her, and she changed because of his love.

This might be a spoiler, but one of my all time favorite episodes is # 26 & 27.

Wow, I'm almost speechless...
Almost.

You just proved that a sappy daytime soap opera level of "love" is all it takes to make you think a bond is real.

1] All the character past reveals are for action reasons, few of them were tragic.

2] Renton was NEVER forced to interact with other female characters of different tiers of society. He has a crush, love is when your crush survives the true temptation of a range of womanly delights.

3]Aliens are for screwing. I believe that's a trek rule.[which is why I hated early Star Trek] If she had turned into a caterpillar alien with wings and ate Human flesh to survive, what would Renton have done?[mercy killing is not an option].

4]If rescuing her from the Command Cluster meant she would die, and letting her live meant the Human race would be extinct was the scenario, what would love do?[see Evangelion for answer]

5]Imagine if the Rei character in Eva had not been, who would Renton have liked in E7?

I can feel you squirming. Squirming inside me, because I ate you. Alive.

But Your biased toward EVA, and as such I don't value your opinion very highly. however long winded it was.

Spaint, Don't listen to the detractors, As they really didn't read the title for this topic, the comments should have been more supportive and not negative.

What I liked the most about Eureka Seven (let me start off by saying this is my favorite anime) would probably be the relationship between Eureka and Renton. It is a very unique perspective on potentials for a relationship, and fundamentally, it is what the anime is based on (not the manga though).
Renton is the typical weirdo adolescence teen just discovering what hormones are, and the same could be said about Eureka, only she has more of a girl next door (or perhaps more like a girl down the street feeling instead) vibe about her. It basically starts off how you would depict a one-sided relationship to go, and it ends with how we all wish a relationship like that would end - love.
