I think the only thing holding back a second Railgun series is the lack of manga material to base it on. Apparently it is only published monthly, instead of weekly.
FYI, Friday, October 8 at 11:30 PM (in Japan) is when the second Index series premieres.

Ah yes I have already seen the preview. Looks awesome ^-^. And I haven't read any of the Railgun manga since I don't want to spoil myself, but isn't there still another arc they can use for a Railgun season 2? I heard its called the Sister's Arc or something? I don't really know lol.
