no. Definitely not. Our history mostly about colonization, like China, French, japan, and American colonized us. I really hated learning about the Vietnam War. A lot of tragedies happened.

I don't like the outcome of it all, but it's actually quite interesting.
especially when you think, "wow, what would it be like if all that didn't happen?" |

It's been fun.

Personally, I find China and US's histories a lot more interesting than Vietnam, though I really interest in the part where Vietnam went against the USA--the Vietnam War (or as it is called in Vietnam, "Chien Tranh Chong My").

Well, i haven't really been inform about Vietnam's history, x-cept from what i hear from my parents. But a while ago, as i was trying to self-educate myself, i found out that Vietnam USED to write using characters (like korean, japanese, chinese, ect.), and i was like "OMG THAT'S SOOO AWSOME
" I'm really fascinated by the characters that those from Korean, Japan, ect. use and I've always been curious as to why Vietnam doesn't use them. Anyways, that is the main part of Vietnam's history that i've been interested in so far. |

Anyways, that is the main part of Vietnam's history that i've been interested in so far. From what I understand Japanese and Korean are Isolated languages (though some argue that korean has altaic roots). Koreans mainly use Hangul developed by Sejong the great (which differs greatly from chinese characters), but in the past they used Chinese characters called Hanja. Japanese developed a system that integrated Chinese characters (kanji) mixed with Japanese sounds (hiragana) and also use a 3rd form for foreign words (kanji). The Vietnamese in the past use chinese characters as well called Hán tự and a modified form called Chữ Nôm. However due to Portuguese missionary Jesuits, i believe, a new writing system was developed using the Portuguese Latin alphabet into its current day form. |
