i appreciate the history of vietnam but it saddens me sometimes. it upsets me knowing that millions of vietnamese are suffering under the hands of the communists still today.
ive been watching the sbtn [viet channel] and viets in texas are protesting the vietnamsese [embasy???] building. apparently, they confiscated homes, gave little money to the owners of these homes, and they sold the homes for higher price.
i loathe the communist. at least the us attempted to stop them in the viet war. better than nothing. *sigh*

I don't know anything about the country's history. All that's taught about Vietnam in American schools is the Vietnam War.

Ok im mixed up here? lol 1st Do most of you all live in the US or in Vietnam? 2nd if you lived in Vietnam after the Vietnam War, most likely the history of the Vietnam War is not being told to you truefully, and 3rd alot of crap happened in the war, I cant even summarize it in one post. My father was in the war and not as an enlisted man, but an officer in the South Vietnamese Army Spec Ops. He can list all that has happen and its frightening!

well i mainly hated the vietnam war, b/c my people where raped, pillaged, killed, and exploited by both sides.... I never got to meet my grandpa, and some of my relatives are still in poor ass villages over there.. gah.. this just makes me depressed

actually, Vietnamese history really interesting. I always listen to my teacher when she says about Quang Trung King and his story. However, teaching and studying History in Vietnam is not attractive to Students because it's so inactive |

Eh... if it weren't for the French we would still have those beautiful characters. If I showed someone a sentence in Vietnamese they won't even know it's from an Asian Country but if I showed them those characters we used to have atleast they'll say Chinese or something :|
